Vikings Offseason Plan: The Good One

 Come on bro. Texas Tech throw every play. Many QBs put up throwing numbers at Tech. Win lose record 7-6 5-7 4-8. I thought that is what mattered for QBs. Or we just do that when we feel like it. Cousins got good stats yet 90  percent hate him🤷🏾‍♂️ Which one is it wins or stats. Like I said nobody world wide but college big 12 diehards even knew him. Johnny Football, Vince Young college household names without NFL nobody would have barely heard of Mahomie plus big 12 don't believe in defense lol.

All of the above is only plausible if Rick is gone since all of the above is about what Rick is doing--the path of mediocrity, etc. As for 31 gm's... it's kind of hyperbole since I'm pretty sure they haven't shopped Kirk (we'd have heard something by now) and even if they did all 31 other gm's wouldn't be in the market for a qb. It's hard to tell if you're serious when you make these implausible statements.  31 gm's, we couldn't get a 7th for Kirk, etc. 

 We could probably get a 2nd for Kirk or maybe a little better from some team that had a hard-on for him but I don't think there is such a team.  Rams don't value 1st rounders and had to dump Goff's contract - in that sort of scenario we would have to give high picks to someone to take Kirk off our hands though I'd say the consensus is probably that Kirk is better than Goff.  What's funny is the idea that Stafford is better than Kirk.  Watching Stafford just makes me think of Kirk.  They have different styles but essentially the same results - stats production and they can't put the team on their back and win.  They are the same guy to me.

I'm skeptical that qb's 3-5 in the draft (presuming anyone can accurately identify them correctly) is "possible greatness."  Or that qb 3 whoever he is will be there at 14.   Even Trevor Lawrence could go bust. You are demanding essentially a full rebuild by the gang that can't shoot straight aka Ricky and Mikey, starting with a 14th pick in a draft.   

I doubt that is a good idea and regardless, I don't see it happening with these guys, ever. They will go down the Kirk-laden path of saving their jobs and maybe make the playoffs some years and then lose, basically until Wilf fires them. And Wilf seems content with this mess since he just added years to their contracts, so we fans are stuck.

I’m right there with you, I think a lot of Vikings fans are and can clearly see that the way the fo and leaders of the Vikings have the team built, it can’t win a sb and is going to be mediocre. But you also have to remember that we have no say in gutting the team and starting new with a new gm and hc and the roster. That is up to the ownership. And they have shown a propensity to being very conservative in their approach and wanting longevity out of the gm and hc staff. Rick and mike know that keeping Kirk on the team means that they won’t suck and have a chance to contend for the playoffs most years (notice I never mentioned sb:those are 2 very different things). They value their jobs and if we are trending to contend for a playoff spot with an ownership who values longevity in its leaders of the team and are conservative in nature than this is going to be a long tenure. Like it or not this is what this team has been, is and will be for the next for seable future. And man if your upset now you better hold your breath once next offseason arrives. Because by every indication and move rick has made there is a good chance cousins is extended which will give us more wiggle room next offseason on the tales of being able to sign a valuable fa or 2 for the defense that will allow us to dig our heels into the playoffs more but will ultimately keep cousin and his crippling contract around even longer. Just more if the same really. And that as they say is the reality of it.
