No assuming. I had absolutely no idea what the Eagle's organization were thinking when the wheeling and dealing was going on back in 2016. Options? I guess it's safe to say Ricky and the Vikings didn't want Mark Sanchez, Josh McCown, Kaepernick, Geno Smith, EJ Manuel, Mike Glennon, Austin Davis etc... The Eagle's had a QB (who in the past worked with Pat Shurmur) we obviously wanted and we went for it. A 1st and a 4th for Bradford and it didn't work out. That's life.

If you had no idea, it logically follows that you are making an assumption.

Spielman showed himself to be a weak negotiator in that trade, and he got cucked by Kirk Cousins and his agent soon after. He should have said that the first round pick was off the table before any negotiation started. He also had to be willing to walk away from a bad deal, but he put himself into a pickle by having an incapable backup on the roster - something I criticized him for doing previously.

I've never negotiated a NFL contract before so I wouldn't know where to begin. What I do know is that the trade for Sam Bradford didn't work out.

I wonder how Philadelphia works out the Wentz situation. The Colts need a QB real bad. Wentz, Darnold or Watson could do well behind that OL.

Ricky has a knack for appearing to have done zero due diligence on some of his deals. He seems to love to deal for it's own sake, like acquiring every 7th rounder in sight every year.

FTR I didn't want Sam Bradford in 2016. Toughing it out with 36 year old Shaun Hill as our starter would've been a complete s h i t show that season. I'm willing to bet Ricky would've signed a vet backup QB for Hill. Heineken was still recovering from his kung fu kick injury and Joel Stave had no business being a backup NFL QB yet. Keep in mind 2016 was the season Matt Kalil, Andre Smith and Jake Long got injured and we had the infamous TJ Clemmings playing LT for us. Jeremiah Sirles was the RT. I don't believe Shaun Hill would've made it through all 16 games and our win/loss record could possibly been worse than 8-8.

Mahomes and Watson were right there for the taking in the 2017 draft. Ricky could've easily used our 1st round pick on one of them.

And that’s the big problem with this team. They always want to look at the season they are in and how to be around .500 or better. They don’t look at the big picture.
