Let me get this out there so I stop getting accused of switching. Put my face on this post. Overall I am still more neutral than anything, but leaning CMC for the time being based on results. Now was the time to fire them they didn't so get it clear. If Rick who deep in my heart I like. I am mad at him and Zim turn it around I'm back off. All I ask for is results. I can care less who is in charge if they get it done. Thought I would get that out there for the ones who don't understand me. For now I am off the faith train until they prove it to me they can get it done. This sticks a fork on this topic for me now that we clear on how I operate. I am ready to talk off season and what Rick and Mike our leaders can do to get back in good graces. They here still so it is my duty to wish they will turn it around and bring us wins. That is my last statement on fire or not fire going forward this off season. My stance is not hard to understand it's based on results. SKOL.

I like the thread. Maybe every poster can clearly state where they stand on Rick and Mike.

For me it's obvious.... 2 playoff wins in so many years is unacceptable. Every season has ended in some sort of embarrassment. We the fans deserve to see someone else get a shot in those two roles. They should've been fired a long time ago, as they've proven they can't build and coach a legit Superbowl contending team. The sooner we fire them the better for our chances at winning a Superbowl.

2 playoff wins in 7 years for Spielman/Zimmer and the Cousins thing was a flop. Cousins is padding stats in the era of the QB stat padding. There's QBs who get close to and break 5000+ yards every season, pass and rush for 40+ touchdowns with fewer interceptions and fumbles. The whole Spielman/Zimmer/Cousins scenario extension was terrible.

With the championship mindset that Drank said in the OP, if this team lost another 2 or 3 games a season but wasn't in a position to win the Super Bowl, if it was in the short term "bad" and winning 3 or 4 games a season instead of 7 or 8, that's really no big deal. Sometimes a team has got to be bad before its good, to get the draft picks, to shed the big expensive contracts to rebuild and set it up for future Super Bowl success. Cousins or a QB like him, making that money, with this current front office and these current coaches, is 6-10 to 10-6 until the cows come home with essentially zero percent chance to win a Super Bowl. Is that a "good team?"

That is absolutely fair. I am definitely with you this was the time to fire them. The situation is a fluid one for me changes with results. If we go 2nd round of playoffs next year then it would make no sense to fire them after a good season. Fire them after a bad season JMO. This off season I am with you. Now everybody got my clear stance and feelings and I can now move on to how we can fix things going forward.

Rick is a average GM who takes more heat then he should. I get the whole he cant get a QB thing but when you think about it he did get a young QB in Bridgewater that some draft guru's had going higher then 32 and got the top rated QB in FA in Cousins. So he has actually got highly rated guys but it just hasn't materialized into success, which falls on him and the coaches. Zimmer isn't a bad HC but needs to let the offense be free and not always try and establish the run early. There might be game were having 20 rushes in the first half is a good thing but there might be games where throwing 25 times in the 1st and running 10 times is best. Overall i do think 2021 should be a hot seat year for both and i think for them to return in 2022 the team needs atleast 2 playoff wins or 1 playoff win with a division title.

Washington was 12th in 2015 & 7th in 2016 but had less weapons then the Vikings had the last 2 years and should have in 21

Washington's 2015 and 2016 team as a whole would've had more success if their D was a bit better. Their D today is pretty damn good!

For those of you content with Zimmer and mediocrity, the Packers could have remained content with Mike Meathead McCarthy, but they rolled the dice on LeFleur and got back to back 13-3 seasons out of him. He finds ways to win the close games and seems to know how to manage a clock.

This is a team that already has a full trophy case but they were still willing to risk their annual 10-6 safe space to chase more hardware. A move that I'm sure upset some of their fans, if vikecycle is any indication. Ain't nobody miss that meathead now.

Granted you could end up with a Matt Patricia or Adam Gase too, but those are the risks you gotta take when your team is mired in mediocrity and won't be winning any hardware anyway.

You need to settle down. The vikes are over the cap because of the wonderful talent and depth that Speilman has brought to this team. Change takes time when you have to weed thru all this talent. These are the problems a team can have when they have a GM that wins the draft and free agency every fricken off season. I think its more of a curse than a blessing.
