What They're Saying...
Tired of discussing last week's debacle. Out with the old, in with the new. Vikings are coming to town for a Monday night game. 1st of 3 division games in a row (with a bye).
With division records of 6-2 (Mold), 5-4 (Monsters), 3-5 (Norsemen) and 3-5 (Kittens), this could well be a battle for the basement. or maybe only the crawlspace? Or the stairs to the basement?
Do our backups step up or does the offense continue to crumble? Does Nagy give up playcalling? Do we have anybody on staff capable of calling plays for the players we have? Will we run 3 plays up the middle then punt, repeatedly? Will C. Patterson finally be used as a decoy instead of a tell-tale?
Tune in to find the answers to these and many other baffling questions. Just bring some attitude adjusters, 'cuz I'm afraid you'll need 'em.
Go Bears!

Well....Cook v the Run Defense....DBs v Cousins....Foles v Nagy...wait...what?
I'm staying optimistic.
Foles <300 yards, 2 TDs (Ridley, Robinson)
Monty <80 yards
DEF gets a pick six with 4 sacks
Bears 24-Vikings 20
Or....
No pick 6, Foles gets 1 TD (Robinson) and Cook wins player of the week again
Vikings 33-Bears 10

The D will hold the Vikes to 17 or so points. The offense will score 10 or so.
Bears 10
Vikes 17
I predict it will be another hard game for Bears fans to watch.

While I'm glad that Nagy is not calling plays, I'm not thinking Lazor is the answer either. He doesn't have much OC experience (his last brief OC gig was with the Bungles and they were 26th in scoring that last year he was calling plays). I think he was a sports analyst guy covering the Penn State games after that. I'm pretty suspicious of any "offensive coordinator" who would take a job in name only... he came here knowing Nagy was the "real" OC who would call plays.
That being said, I would love to have a solid OC hired and given the play calling duties here. But that's not going to happen mid season here. Really the offense is (and has been) a train wreck. On top of everything else the injuries and the Covid season has hurt the team too.

Hate playing the Vikings. Honestly that dirty hit from Harrison Smith changed how Tru plays the game. Hope we clean their clocks and someone puts #22 on his ass. No injuries too.
All the Vikes have to do is run the ball...
24-10 Vikes
If for some reason, Bears stop the run
17-10 Bears

Looking at those sack totals after 9 games makes me sad.
I thought this Dline would destroy a lot of QBs this season.
Hicks hasn’t had a sack since the Falcons game.
Quinn is a waste of 70 million so far.
Pagano continues to ignore the fact that Roquan is a force on a blitz.

who decided either of these teams were worthy of a Monday night game?
Downward spiral continues.

I dunno... Cousins struggles on Monday Night Football and I think the defense is due for a score.

I'm dying to see how this D does against Cook. I'm sure he'll get his TD or two -but I like the Bears chances against these guys. I think the Bear DBs are up to the task.
Foles is going to throw it 50 times again, for 300+ yards. I hope Coach Nagy considers abandoning the silliness & letting him throw into the end zone -just an idea.
Vikes D is a lot like the Titans, but a bit more friendly on the Dline. The Oline will survive.

Fanless football: so far this season, the away team has won 67 times and the home team 66 (1 tie). The home teams have scored 1 more point.

The amount of you who seem to think the Bears are capable of scoring more than 20 points is interesting. You have more hope than I.
It's based on two things:
1. The offense has been leaving points on the field, and at some point I expect that to change. Against the Vikes is a fine time for that to happen. I expected it last week, but yet again they moved the ball without scoring (sacks, penalties, horrible play calls).
2. The defense is on a cold streak with turnovers for most of the season. But they're SO close frequently. So that's expecting a score from a turnover (not necessarily defensive TD but an additional possession on short field).

Which team is worse? We are about to find out.

I think we are due for a bounce back week. Minnesota is hot right now though, which worries me but what the heck.
Bears - 31
Vikes - 17
Ryan Nall gets 2 TD's, 1 rushing and 1 receiving (switch these to Monty if he suits up)
Foles to ARob from 19
and the D finally catches one of these close INT's for a pick 6 - I'll go with Kyle Fuller for the win

Bears win another ugly game (including the usual strong defensive showing). Just enough to give us fans some hope going into the bye so that we can be properly crushed coming out against the Pack.
I'm unhappily contemplating the consequences of a Bears loss here. This is a must win game for there to be any hope for this season.

At this point...it’s pure hope .....and I’m running out of it
The Bears are on a downward spiral and Vikings are on the rise. Can the Bears arrest their freefall with one extra day to prepare? I hope so. It would be so much better to go into the bye week at 6-4 with a win under their belts than 5-5 on the back of a 4 game losing streak. Last week's performance though was just the latest instalment of Nagy's 1.5 seasons of struggles to put a functioning offense on the field. I think it will be close, but I can't see Nagy turning things around this side of the bye.

The O will not get untracked. Foles will look as bad as he has the past 3 weeks. Is Monty playing? Doesn't matter, the OL sucks anyway.
The D is at the point of getting fed up with Nagy's worthless, anemic offense. This is where the team gets lost and in fighting starts.

Are the Bears going to unveil some new wrinkle on offense? Unlikely, maybe after the bye. They'll struggle to get to 24, more likely 17, maybe 20. Can they contain Cook? Definitely. I have them losing a close one, 21-17.
Bears focus on stopping Dalvin Cook and Cousins can't get it done. Meanwhile the Vikings defense isn't what it used to be, currently allowing 26 points per game. Bears win another squeaker.

Im feeling much more comfortable with the bears run d, and that makes me optimistic for this game. I don’t think Lazor is gonna make a big difference right away, so it’ll be low scoring. Nagy might be extra conservative now that he’s not calling plays, so I think he’ll opt for punts or FGs on fourth and short

Monday night is a must win game. If the defense is so great, hold the Queens scoreless.
I don't care how they cobble a victory together, just get one or the season is shot.
