Bonus tid here:
The sooner they admit to how they misjudged the roster, the sooner the Vikings can carve out a way to head in the right direction. But it’s difficult for decision-makers to cop to that level of honesty when their own jobs hang in the balance.
The Vikings aren’t at rock bottom, but they need to shift their focus toward 2021. Soon enough their actions could reflect the notion of the word they refuse to utter.

What They're Saying...
Just about at the midway point now and heading into the time when the playoff seeding race heats up.
The main thing this game is just not to get caught looking ahead, a real temptation with the game in SF coming on a very short week after.
We gotta come out and get up on our division rival early to make sure they know they won't have any room for error in this one. Come out flat and... Well even a team like Minny can make you have to earn it.
Hopefully MLF's one game at a time message is ringing loud and clear.
Bears got the Saints in town and could lose again. Bucs unfortunately got the Giants... Too easy.

Minny is a weird team, they'll put up points but give up twice as many. I can see another massive game for Adams coming. Hopefully the team uses Dillon more this game to keep our guys healthy for San Fran.
Should be a decisive win, but like you say can't ever let down. the Vikings Danielle Hunter is having neck surgery and is done for the year.
Whichever WR that Alexander isn't covering could have a big game.
Minnesota has just 13 sacks on the season and just traded away a guy who had 5 of those. They also dont create turnovers. If we take care of the ball there is no reason we should not win.
All that said, Minnesota has enough offensive threats that if Cousins isnt a turnover machine they could cause us problems. The offensive line still struggles to protect the passer but with Cook likely back and Thielen and Jefferson they will get yards

This will be a good test for our ILB's. Stopping Cook is something we have not been good at.
The Vikings brass has already given up. There are many articles from the local sportswriters stating as such. They traded a 2nd round pick for Ngakoue (which should be a high 2nd round), paid him several million in salary, and then traded him to Baltimore for a 3rd round pick - which should be a low 3rd rounder. Rumors are that Harrison Smith and many others are available for trades. They are gambling for Treavor Lawrence, but in true Vikings style, will even lose at losing. The Jets or someone else will get them.
The Vikings will play us tough, but in the end, they don't have the horses anymore. Kirk Cousins took too much of their cap and it finally caught up with them.

Jefferson is the real deal. He is everything that Stefon Diggs was for the Vikings, but higher ceiling and MUCH better attitude. He is still a rookie and needs to be more consistent, but he is a big-play WR and will get open for a big play or two against us. Luckily the Vikings don't have enough else. Thielen seems to have come back to Earth a bit.
He has?! Okay, maybe just a bit.
Chaos reigns in Minnesota. No pass rush, no interior pass blocking and Kirk being Kirk to the point of rumors saying Cousins could sit this week.
Unless there is a total meltdown by the Packers, it should be an "easy" win.

Another Fraudulent win!
As far as the Vikings this should be a scrimmage for the Packers. Gotta be careful to still show up however. Vikings have gone from “mini-rebuild” to “full-on rebuild.” It looks like the Cousins era could be coming to an end. The Packers should have no problem lighting up this Queens defense. Not much to report here. Two teams going in different directions at the moment.
don't buy that this will be an easy win. It is a rivalry game after all. Nonetheless, it should be a win and not too close.
Agree. Division games are hard fought and upsets happen. MIN is coming out of the bye and after their last loss things looked bad, so I expect Zimmer to have the team playing like madmen. It will not be an easy game to win, but GB should be favored by 7.
I love that the Vikings suck.
Some interesting contrasts in this game. Kurt Cousins leads the NFL in interceptions. Packers defense is next to last in the NFL in interceptions. Vikings defense is 29th in passing yards allowed. But they are 3rd best in stopping 3rd down conversions and 6th in the red zone.
As for Sunday, I don't have a good feeling about this. Division game against desperate team coming off a bye, no Aaron Jones, no Kevin King, Bahktiari & Crosby beat up.
If Zimmer was smart, he'd load the box and bring pressure and shade help coverage towards Adams. Basically make Rodgers uncomfortable and force one of the no-names on offense (MVS, Tonyan, Jamaal) beat you. He can be stubborn with his calls and scheme, so we'll see. I do expect them to bring more pressure in with those A-gap LB blitzes after seeing the TB film.
If Dalvin Cook is healthy, they are dangerous. Mattison is a good backup -- at least as good as Jamaal Williams. Justin Jefferson was another player I liked and he's going to be a thorn for NFCN CB's for years. Will be a good test for the defense, and if they can pressure Cousins or get a 2 score lead on MIN and force them to throw they have a good shot at picks.
Forecast calls for a windy day, that might influence playcalling.

Expect Vikings to try and run a lot. Cousins leads the NFL in interceptions, and Cook and Mattison are healthy. Packers front 7 though is as healthy as they've been since Week 1.
Packers win in a laugher, 42-17
Not to be negative or anything, but they sorta blamed a bad week of practice for the Tampa loss. With the various injuries, etc., this may not have been the best week either. I expect the Packers to load up to stop the run. Our DBs better be sharp just in case Cousins snaps back and has a fairly good game.
I agree with runpMc about the Vikings trying to shut down Adams and do a lot of pass and run blitzing, but they won't be successful. Tonyan, Valdez-Scantling, Turner, and Jamal should have big games receiving, maybe Ervin too, maybe even Sternberger and/or St. Brown. Rodgers' bad game is fresh enough in his mind that no way he has another one. Look for him to really spread it around.
Packers 35 Vikings 24
After reading UpNorth's weather forecast, I'll revise that down to 28-20 Packers

This should be easy pickings. The Vikes are reeling, while the Packers are rolling (with a major correction in TB). There were many who thought the Vikings would be division champs, instead of division chumps. And Zimmer is on the hot seat, which Rodgers thinks is crazy. Personally, that would be fine with me, especially if the Packers could sign Zimmer as their new DC. Still, this is a division game, and my biggest fear is that some Vikings player might decide the best way to get back at the Packers is to put Rodgers on IR. Irrational? Maybe. But ever since Anthony Barr put that unnecessary pile driver on Rodgers, breaking his collarbone, nothing would surprise me. I'd be surprised if the Packers had any of their IR practice players on the field this week, especially since their nemesis from last year, the Niners, next Thursday. That would be a great time for them to be much nearer full strength on both sides of the ball. Because I badly want to kick some serious butt next Thursday. But first things first. No looking past an apparently easy win; stay focused, stay hungry and take it one at a time.
Going for 9th straight divisional win. (Anyone know what the record is?)
Lots of window dressing for SF defense to prepare for.
Short week, would like to put this one away early.
A large offering of Dillon's smashed potatoes in the 4th quarter would be tasty.

I knew the Packers had a good streak going back in 2010-11, but I didn't realize it was the second longest winning streak in NFL history. I guess I remember talk about them getting close to the Patriots record of 21 games. I always said there was about a year there where they had the best team in football, from the end of the 2010 season to somewhere in the 2011 season.
Sunday will be the 24th regular season start against the Vikings for Aaron Rodgers, from a win/loss he is 15-8-1 so far (also 1-0 in the playoffs). He has completed 68 percent of his passes (508-747), thrown 47 TD's with 7 INT's and 5,839 in passing yards.
Bonus tid here:
Reviewed the division winners...
- Detroit only team in NFC never to win division with new realignment in 2002
- Buffalo and Cleveland are only teams in AFC
All 3 teams have chance to change that this year.. Buffalo a very good chance, Detroit and Cleveland a small chance.

Packers converting 3rd & long (6+ yards) 2nd best in the NFL... Solid improvement from being 18th last year, and 24th in 2018. 1. Buffalo 50.0% 2. Green Bay 41.7% Packers offense converted 3rd & 9, 3rd & 10, 3rd & 7 situations vs Houston.
Everyone says this is the Suckqueens Superb Owl. If that is the case should be an easy Pack victory. We all know Buzz Cuzz is a total failure in big games.
The main reasons I won’t give the Pack a 100% chance at victory this week are Dalvin Cook and Justin Jefferson. If Cook is healthy, he’s a pain in the ass for our D to handle.
About the only good thing the Vikes have done recently is draft Jefferson. He looks fantastic for a rookie, arguably they got the best WR in a draft loaded with good ones.
Keep those 2 guys under control, the Pack should win easily. Thelen of course is a really good steady WR as well, but I think a healthy Cook and Jefferson are more explosive and can put some pressure on the Pack’s D.

Going to pick up my bottle of Grape Crush tomorrow and ice it all week!

The Vikings are now on record saying that Rudolph, Reiff, Everson Griffin, Anthony Harris, and Harrison Smith are available. Maybe Thielen too.
That can’t be good for the locker room or for team morale.
Given their cap issues their best play may be a complete tear down to accumulate picks and tank this year to maximize draft position.
Which all makes for an interesting scenario this week in GB. No one will ever come out and admit they are trying to lose (tank), but at 1-5 and in looking at their remaining schedule how many more wins do you see? Realistically, I see maybe 2 or 3. They will find a way to beat Detroit once, probably beat Jacksonville, and likely defeat the Cowboys. That’s about it.
For the Packers this week, if they can punch MN in the face early and jump out to a 10-14 point lead I expect the Queens to fold. These games are usually pretty competitive but man they looked really bad against an equally disappointing ATL team.

If Thielen is available.....GO GET HIM!!!! f*cking YESTERDAY!!
Thielen is a poor man's Jordy Nelson. He's good (very good at times), not great, and hasn't been great without a star opposite him. Of course there's an issue of who is throwing to him, but I'm not sure I would give up picks for him. If we're going for it an acquiring another receiver I would rather they pursue a starter at Slot receiver. Lazard will be back, Adams is fine, but a sneaky Wes Welker type would be outstanding in this scheme. Wish they had held on to Randall Cobb honestly, he would be killer in this scheme. In the end though MLF has proven himself adept at scheming receivers open regardless of their talent level, so as long as they can catch and run then I think the offense will continue to hum.
I don't want any Vikings scraps. If they want to sell of Kendricks for cheap then great, doubt they would do that though. He's about the only one I would take.

Going to be tough to beat Jets for #1 overall. Not certain they'll win one game.
I don't want the Spermheads near the top of the draft. Sure I want them to suck but I don't want them anywhere near being able to pick Lawrence, Fields, or the QB from North Dakota State.
I want them at 7-9 or 8-8. Bad enough to not make the playoffs but not in a position to pick in the top 10.
