I'm fully aboard team Leftwich.
Like it or not the world is changing and people are changing. This is a new generation of players and Leftwich is in a sweet spot of having played with them but also some of the previous generation. I really feel he's going to be able to communicate and understand them better.
His leadership is hard to question, most of us remember him gutting it out on a broken leg and being carried down field. He's passionate and can fire up a room and get people to follow him.
The thing I like the most is that he's a former highly drafted QB who's career didn't quite live up to expectations. He lasted in the league a long time bit mostly as a backup. That makes him perfect in my eye for grooming a future QB. If we can draft a 1st round guy in the coming years he'd be uniquely qualified to take the kid aside and say "I've been in this exact spot and I know what you're dealing with."
One fun little thing, how many us of remember that Leftwich was the catalyst for the Vikings missing their pick that draft? Baltimore was going to trade up for him and then they screwed the Vikes and didn't call it in. It would be a great peice to the story to have him come in as our Head Coach.
