While we are 1-5, I just don't think we can compete with teams like WAS, NYJ and JAX over a 16-game span to lock up that #1 seed. We are clearly a talented team that is underachieving with a couple of genuine areas of concern. But we are not a bottom feeder team, so the idea of Trevor Lawrence in purple in 2021 is a pure and simple pipe dream. So I don't think anyone should try to fool themselves or each other into thinking that can happen.
Because of the genius Vikings brass however Kirk Cousins is wrapped up for a couple years contractually, so the idea of Dak Prescott or some other hot free agent QB coming in 2021 is also a pipe dream. FU Spielman...
However if we had a rookie QB, he could actually sit behind Kirk Cousins for a season or two and it might time out nicely, so when we finally drop Kirk, our rookie can be good to go.
I don't follow college football, but I know about Trevor Lawrence. While #1 is a pipe dream, finishing Top 10 is likely and Top 5 is a possibility. So my question is, is there a 2nd or 3rd QB in this draft that any of you see as a top QB other than Lawrence that the Vikings could nab that would provide the happy ending to this disastrous era we so desperately deserve?
