Someone please remind me why this guy was considered to be a steal in the draft? Let alone why is he starting. Well we know why he's starting because we're in cap hell and can't afford anyone decent with experience. This guy is giving me Chris Cook vibes. Yes he can stay with the WR, but his ball skills are terrible. Yall seen the highlight where Harrison Smith said, " Cam, cover your f*cking guy." lol This guy is terrible and should not be starting. I'm guessing he looked good in training camp but against our offense, that's not saying much. Seattle who apparently has one of the worst defenses in the league this year still managed to get two turnovers off of us which ultimately led to them getting back into the game and winning. But this Dantzler kid needs to be benched. Who can replace him, I don't know. Hopefully we will have a new GM before next season to fix this mess. Holton Hill was injured but he isn't that much better. He was another guy who was supposedly a "steal" according to fans. Do I think Cam can get better, idk. Ball skills are something that just come natural, either you got it or you don't. Every play he's far away from the WR by the time the ball hits their hands.

He had a rough game late, that is for sure.

Interestingly enough, we only had 3 CBs take coverage snaps on Sunday night, which means the Vikings didn't need to go into Dime against the pass once. Crazy in today's NFL.

Hughes has his second good game in a row though. Good to see and it is too bad the guy is always hurt.

Most CBs need time to develop, and rookie CBs almost always struggle. It's really not fair him to be relied on as the team's top CB and be made to go up against Metcalf - it's simply poor roster construction to throw a group of young unestablished rookies with zero veterans on board. Plus, Dantzler is just 21 and has only started 2 years in college. I have confidence he'll develop into a starting CB, but it wouldn't surprise me if that happens mid-2021.

He is a friggin rookie.. If you wanna blame someone for all the Vikings troubles, his name is MIKEY ZIMMER. CB isnt an easy posistion to master. Yeah, Danzler was bad, so was Maddison, so was Samira, so was O'niel. I could go on and on cause we screwed the pouch every chance we got. Danzler was not the problem, there were other guys on the D. Why didnt Zimmer have Metcalf double teamed that last drive?

Yeah lets blame it all on the Rookie CB. Who the hell did you want starting for him? All of Mikey Z's 1st round draft picks were hurt or on another dam team. Use your head.

I mean wasn’t it obvious before the year our cb’s would struggle this year? The most veteran one is a former 1st round pick (Hughes) who never showed much before this year. Too much youth and inexperience. Zimmer doesn’t seem to have the touch with cb’s like he used to years back. Then our 3tech on dline was a big question mark and the loss of our fa prize at nt, I think it was fairly obvious our defense would struggle this season.

Yes I knew we would struggle. A .500 team is struggling. I guess I didn't prepare myself for being bad.
Pierce opt out and Hunter injury could not be seen in the off season. The thinness at safety and inexperienced DB's could be.
By the time this team actually took the field it was a bad defense.

Yeah at first glance you think what the hell is Cam doing on that 4th and 10, but then you have to realize that ball was just floated up and he thinks he has an easy pick. That game was probably the best lesson for Cam as he now realizes what playing against probably the most physically gifted freak in the league today is like. Doubt hell not attack the ball again. Im not worried about the corners idk what people expected 2 rookie corners to do with no real offseason especially this year. If Samia is still playing next sunday Im just confused

because here's the bottom line RICK SPIELMAN CANNOT DRAFT CORNERBACKS. You want to cite Danztler and the other idiot as being rookies? So was Mike Hughes! how long do we have to wait for that 1st rounder to be declared a bust? Trae Waynes did far more harm than good which is why he wasn't re-signed either. The Vikings should stick to free agency and trades for our starting Cornerbacks. Period.

I disagree, I see our interior offensive line being our biggest weakness and our defensive line as our second biggest weakness.

Cap hell makes these type of signing very tough, and it looks like it will get much worse before it gets better.

that actually just proves my point even more. That's a friggin' bargain. when the Giants released him mid-season last year, his contract was actually less than Xavier Rhodes. We could've handled that sized extension just like the Saints did. Had Jenkins signed some Top 5 CB deal, then it would've been out of our range, but his current deal we totally could've handled that.

and i'll also point out what a baller Jenkins has been since joining the Saints, including a monster game against us. But again my point is Spielman/Zimmer need to look for proven players, because their radar on elite prospects don't work.
