Talking Points

This loss is one of the worst defeats since the Saints bountygate playoff game.
The coaching staff & QB made some errors in critical times of the game.
Seattle defense took advantage of our weak link RG Samia, at crirical times

Player that needs to be benched ASAP
Samia, coaching staff how many penalties does he have to have that stop critcal drives in a game. 4,5 what is the limit ?
How many huries or sacks does he have to accumulate that stall drives befor he is benched? We need a bigger stronger RG put in Udoh, Collins, Clevland


Dumbest plays of the game

Cousins throwing an unforced int right to a defender 10 feet right in front of him at a critical time
OC play call on 2 point conversion a qb draw with a clumsey, indecisive QB. Need a better play call there,
OC play call on 4th & inches, I like going for it but you have to have a call that works. You ran it to Samia's side, Need a better play call there. Run behind Dozier & Reiff
Defense giving up 2 touchdowns within minutes of the 3rd quarter.
Defense collapsing on the whole last drive. Danzier allowing critical catches in the last 2 minutes when evryone knows he is throwing.

I really want to be positive on Mattison, as he outplayed Cook and looked great on several runs... but man, if he just cuts to the right on the final 4th and 1 play, it's game over. Cook is the better back, but there isn't a big drop-off between he and Mattison.

Good to see Irv Smith show up. It's about time, too! Just keep have him running those intermediate throws to him and he'll catch them.

Lynch has already outproduced Mata'afa in just a handful of snaps. He's worth rotating in on passing downs and seeing if he can eventually pass up Jaleel Johnson.

Wilson might be better than Barr at this point... he's a better playmaker at this point.

It goes to show that this team is better off running the ball 40 times rather than have our $33M QB put the game on his shoulders... we just can't win against good teams in primetime games with him. He doesn't have that "it" factor. Too many turnovers, and no hope at converting 3rd downs longer than 10 yards. Extending him was just an awful move.

We spread the ball around pretty well early on. There was even a Bisi Johnson sighting! Cook is a beast! Love the way he played tonight, I hope he isn't out too long (if at all).

I think the defense played well especially considering who we were going against (could be the weather helped us too). Our pass rush was effective early. The coverage on the 4th and 10 though was horrible (was that Dantzler?) Overall our D took a big step tonight for whatever that is worth.

Overall it was a great effort by our squad. This leaves me to wonder that if we had a pre season could we be 4-1 as opposed to 1-4? Probably not, we still need those young DB's to mature.

Are you serious? That play failed like 27 times last year, so I'm glad they didn't bring it back this year. Like the screens to Rudolph, I'm glad those plays were left in 2019.

Yes that was Dantzler. He was so bad in coverage he might be the worst since Chris Cook. I just can't even imagine what he was doing on that 4th and 10, other than maybe he was told by "play it safe" Zimmer to keep everything in front of him, so instead of trying to make a game saving play, he just made extra sure not to get beat. Because I refuse to believe he's that bad. Zimmer needs to start letting his defenders make plays because this play it safe BS clearly keeps biting him in the ass.

When it came to tackling however, I thought Dantzler had a good game. He reminds me of AW, a great tackling CB who sucked at covering too xD.

I agree. I like his tackling, and Gladney too for that matter. Looking forward to seeing how they do next week vs. Falcons.

Oh man, I like the way you think. I was like wait, they'll never trade for Cousins if they have Dalton, but throwing in Zimmer? Oh boy, how does JJ pass that up? Too bad they have Mike McCarthy because I would be down for a straight up Zimmer/Cousins for HC/Dalton trade, but no way I want to go from one Meathead Mike to another. That is funny, because I watched the game when Cook was out and all I could think was how much better Cook looked when he was in there versus Mattison. Some of the holes opened up for Mattison that he got 20-25 yards on Cook would have gone the distance on. There were also a couple of other shorter runs besides the last one where he looked like he chose the wrong hole as well. It was a pretty stark difference to me and I know the production says otherwise, but it just looked like Mattison's success was more about him running against a worn down defense than anything.

Jerry isn't dumb enough to make a terrible trade like that, and they've already got a QB in Cousins' tier in Andy Dalton. If they do move on from Prescott (which is far from a guarantee IMO), they'd likely draft a QB.

As far as I can tell the number would only be 20 million if we traded Cousins since that is all we have left of signing bonus and everything else would transfer to the boys. A fantastic trade for us no matter what we got in return, but I think it is just a pipe dream.

I actually have a thread coming up where I explored trading Cousins to other teams with those team's fans. I left the Cowboys' fans out of it because it felt a bit too much like dancing on a grave atm.
