Don't worry, its only been slightly over a decade with a crap oline. He will have it straightened out shortly.

Again, the offense lost 1 starter; the defense lost 5. They need to carry this team for a while, and they are failing to do so.

Because the Jets are probably the only team the Vikings could beat right now.

Darnold is horrible, Gase is horrible, Bell is horrible and hurt and untradeable and uncuttable.

The Vikings have a whole slew of problems right now. Zimmer, Cousins, Kubiak, the DL, the DBs, the OL...the difference is, at least a few of the Vikings problems have shown in the past that they are much better than they have shown thus far.

The same isn't true of the Jets.

Yeah going down 3-28 before you score your 1st TD isn't a winning formula.

This is actually very reminiscent of weeks 1-4 last year where Kirk mostly struggled and his teammates grumbled. This years D isn't strong enough to overcome this and keep us relevant till Kirk comes around.

If being a Viking fan was easy ~ everyone would do it.

It was the type of contract that desperate men sign.

When Cousins was signed, Spielman and Zimmer said they will live and die with him. Now that Cousins was going into his final year, ALL of them had to be extended together to draw out the inevitable. It was convenient for Spielman, Zimmer, and Cousins to get that endorsement from the Wilfs - even though it will destroy the Vikings cap any way it goes.

I did not want Cousins signed in the first place, and the extension was a sick joke. When I read the terms, it was almost like the day I read the terms of the Herschel Walker trade or the Wild signing of Parise and Suter; I knew they were desperate deals by desperate men. The devil is in the details, and the details were a dastardly devilish to be sure.

Ok, so:

There's been zero rotation at CB. Hill played 96%, Gladney 82%, and Hughes 81% of the time. Boyd played 4%. Why not at least rotate the backups in to keep them fresh? They had a 4 man rotation at CB last year with Hughes spelling Rhodes and Waynes, not sure why they've suddenly stopped that.

Barr left the game and Troy Dye got his first action, but I didn't see a difference between the defense when Barr was in or out. He's just not a playmaker anymore.

Holmes was announced as the starter over Odenigbo and played more too... not good. They gave Wonnum his first action too, so they're at least trying to change things up on the D-line. It's just not working.

Sharpe, Beebe, and Mata'afa have all gone basically unused. I don't see the point in keeping them any longer. I'd prefer to see Spielman poach some prospects off other teams' practice squads who might have more upside.

I honestly just think that was to get Hughes some playing time, knowing that both Rhodes and Waynes would be gone next year.

They can also trade him and only have 20 million in dead cap, 10 really since I don't consider the 10 million moved from this year to the next a part of the most recent extension.

The Jets will be looking for a new QB, and maybe the 49ers will be too. The Jets are the worst run organization in football, and as good as Shannahan has been at coaching, he was stupid enough to pass on both Mahommes and Watson in 2017 for the shot at signing Cousins at QB.

There is hope.

Hmmm... well, either way I think it's smart to have a rotation of CBs to keep them all fresh. It seemed to work well when Waynes and Newman rotated in and out in 2016-17.

The Jets are incredibly incompetent, but I highly doubt they would trade for Cousins unless it involved the Vikings giving them several draft picks just to eat the deal (a la Osweiler trade). I wouldn't get your hopes up - I anticipate they will have a new regime in place come March 2021, ready to pick Trevor Lawrence with the 1st overall pick.
