Okay, Sunday was NOT fun. Time to rebound against the Colts.

Philip Rivers completed 36-of-45 passes for 363 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions in Indianapolis' 27-20 upset loss to the Jaguars.

It was high drama in Rivers' Colts debut (a la his entire career with the Chargers) as he drove the field with less than one minute remaining only to eventually deliver a dropped back shoulder fade to T.Y. Hilton and turn the ball over on downs. The veteran hit nine different receivers throughout the day but will inevitably have his entire performance boiled down to two bone-headed interceptions that allowed the Jaguars to stay competitive throughout.

About the Colts defense:

Jaguars QB Gardner Minshew completed 19-of-20 passes for 173 yards and three scores, adding five carries for 19 yards in Jacksonville's 27-20 Week 1 upset over the Colts.

Trailing 20-17 with 6:04 remaining in the fourth quarter, Minshew extended the play outside of the pocket — a common theme on Sunday — and hit Keelan Cole (5/47/1) for the 22-yard go-ahead score over Indy. The second-year signal-caller was decisive in Week 1, hitting 10 different receivers...

Injury news:

Colts RB Marlon Mack suffered a season-ending torn Achilles in Sunday's loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Mack rushed for a career-high 1,091 yards in 2019.

That is good news for a team struggling to generate a pass rush (although it is tough to pressure the QB when guys are open almost immediately).

Defensively, Minshew only threw one incomplete pass against the Colts but most of his pass attempts were very short, easy completions. Most of their struggles came against the run, which is the Vikings strength on offense.

We match up better against the Colts than any team we will face this year and if this isn't a win Sunday, I predict we don't win more than 4 games this season. I don't believe we lose though, and win going away.

Final score: 30-24 with a Rivers garbage TD late to make the game look closer than it was.

This season has "the wheels falling off" written all over it. The Wilfs are going to have to man up and make some decisions after this season. I for one am for a new coach and GM. I would love to see Bienemi (SP) get a head coaching job here. Not sure about the GM but I am getting pretty close to being a "anyone but Spielman" kind of guy. The Wilfs have given him a long enough shot (over a decade) to get it done. Its just time to move on.

You do realize more times than not what should be a cake walk ends up being anything but.

Typically when a team that should get blown out ends up winning it is because they actually match up well with a clearly better team. Since the Vikings do not appear to be a clearly better team than anyone at this point, that is not the case here. We will win because we match up well with the Colts, not necessarily because we are better than they are.

I don't think they match up with anyone well to be honest. Wins will have more to do with luck rather than talent this year.

Well they didn't do very well the last game they played a neutral game. You're not getting hooked into the playoff crowd by chance are you?

I'm always hooked on it until eliminated. You know that.
We have always been good enough to at least be still in the playoff hunt late in the season with Zimmer. Then disappointed 1/2 the time.
That said. Looking over our schedule the game we should be set up for the let down would be @ Detroit in the final.
Looking at that schedule as I said though tells me we must have this one or my plan is moot.

If being a Viking fan was easy ~ everyone would do it.
