Completely inaccurate w/ regard to pressure. Kirk was tied with Russel Wilson and Tannehill as the highest ranked QB in the NFL with a clean pocket so you're either spitting garbage or spewing ignorance. If you have some stats or analytics to back up your assertion that Kirk is below average w/ a clean pocket go ahead and post them, I'm listening.
No problem, and I apologize for not being more clear. Cousins was very good overall with a clean pocket, just like he was above average compared to his peers under pressure. However, in these specific games, the ones against top 10 pass defenses, he was bad. Really bad.
Per PFF, in weeks 2,4,9, 13, 16 and the divisional round he had a passer rating of 86.6, a YPA of 6.7, a completion percentage of 64.8, and threw 6 TDs to 4 picks from a clean pocket. Under pressure in those games, he had 67.6 passer rating, threw 2 TDs and 1 int, had a 5.4 YPA, and a completion percentage of 44.2. 3rd string QB bad.
Also, I don't how much you really understand about football but when a QB runs an offense predicated on play action they by definition hold the ball longer. If you can come up w/ specific data on how long Kirk held the ball on strait drop backs you might have a point, otherwise your "held the ball longer than any QB in the NFL" statement is is complete BS.
And just so you know, Kirk has never been a 35 million dollar QB, his cap hit for the upcoming year is $21 mil so wtf are you talking about. I realize this site is completely anti-Kirk what with a countdown to when he's gone, but if you're going to post comments you could at least use data or statistics to back it up.
I was referring to his new extension which will count as 31 million against the cap in 2021 and 45 million in 2022, which isn't 35 million, you are correct. It averages out to 38 million per year. In 2022 his base salary will be 35 million, so yes, he has never been a 35 million dollar QB, but he will count as 38 million on average over the next 2 seasons and will eventually be a 35 million dollar QB in 2022.
Also, keep posting. You have brought up some good points here and I appreciate the discussion.
