Cousins versus top 10 pass defenses is a bottom ten QB

I disagree in no way with this.  He was god awful against the packers and the Bears.  When he's pressured early he goes beaker for the rest of the game, whether the pocket is clean or not.  He doesn't have elite pocket presence to begin with but when the pressure comes early, like the Packers and Bear games, he's done for the rest of the game, which isn't unheard of even for elite QBs- in both of Brady's SB losses he got pummeled early and saw ghosts the second half, (no I'm obviously not saying Kirk is anything close to Brady just pointing out how a QB can be effected by pressure, so don't even @ me).  Kirk and the oline have to at a minimum not suck complete ass against elite dlines.  It's on them both.

As far as his contract, yes you're correct in the $35 mil/year and actually it's much worse than that, he'll eventually count $45 mil/year which is ridiculous for anyone not named Mahomes.  I do expect a restructure/extension before that though to reduce his cap hit.

Whoa, hold the phone. Since when do I hate the Vikings lol? The fact that I hate all these other losers is proof that I like the Vikings. I obviously want to see them succeed and I don't think they will with the Triangle of Mediocrity (TOM), so I share my opinion about it xD.

We all hope, but hope doesn't fill the trophy case. This is what separates those of us with the Championship Mindset with those of us stuck in the mediocre mindset like TOM. You don't have to be content with mediocrity and hope. You can have higher expectations, but sometimes that requires taking chances. The Vikings voted for more of the same, mediocrity and hope. The same formula that has led to an empty trophy case the past 60 years.

That applies to just about every QB who isn't named Brett Favre. That was the same excuse everyone had for TJack early on. The Oline, receivers, and coaching were complete trash. Then Favre comes in and suddenly everyone had Super Bowl caliber talent. Even if he does have the worst Oline ever, it's his job to elevate his supporting cast, just like Favre did. Or he should take less money so the Vikings can hire him a better Oline.

Probably because Kirk had the ball one last time with a chance to make everything a moot point, but he decided to sh*t the bed instead. Those are the moments when you're supposed to prove all the naysayers wrong. Instead we got another choke job. I didn't see that "it" factor in him. I saw someone who crumbled under the pressure. Not exactly inspiring stuff when this is the guy you have to rely on to win 3-4 pressure packed games in January. If he would just show any sign of confidence in those moments, on a consistent basis, maybe I'd feel better about our chances. Instead he's consistent about looking skittish and rattled. For example, when we're down by 3 TD's, then he suddenly looks confident and comfortable as he pads the stats against prevent. We need that guy to show up in close games.

Exactly. Which we have ZERO evidence for. We can't even win 2 regular season games in a row against playoff caliber teams. I'll give Zimmer credit with one thing. Unlike coaches past, he's phenomenal when it comes to beating teams that we should beat. I can't accuse him of "playing down to the competition" because he's the best in the NFL when it comes to beating sub .500 teams. Unfortunately for us however, you don't get to play sub .500 teams in the playoffs lol. We're one of the worst teams when it comes to beating teams above .500, which is the main reason why the trophy case remains empty.

That's not true. Nobody blames him if he plays well, unless he gets a final drive to ice the game and craps the bed. But I don't understand why people have a problem with a QB getting most of the blame for losses. There's not a single position in all of team sports that has more of an affect on wins/losses than QB. It's why they make all the money. The day QB's start turning down huge contracts and asking their teams to redirect those funds toward a better supporting cast, is the day I'll sh*t my pants. Until then, they're just going to have to accept all the blame. Because maybe we'd have a better Oline if we didn't have to pay him $30m a year. When a QB accepts that kind of money, they're basically saying they're good enough to get the job done anyway. If not, then what are we paying him all the money for? We can get 9-7 from a $15m QB.

Then how do you square that with being content with extending TOM lol? Because that's all they've ever given us.

It's probably why we hold onto a professional clipboard holder like Mannion instead of a promising young prospect like Sloter. Sloter might have gotten a shot by now had Cousins missed a couple of games. Maybe we would have found out he was the real deal, wouldn't have had to extend Cousins, and could have sunk more money into a better Oline to protect future 4 time Super Bowl winner and Hall of Fame QB Kyle Joseph Sloter.

The Vikings didn't keep Teddy because of the severity of the knee injury. A lot of uncertainty there. Another reason was the availability of Kirk in free agency.
