The difference is, Cook and Bradford have proven themselves to be more than competent on the football field and worthy of the risk (before Bradfords "bone bruise" issue). Teddy on the other hand hasn't proven anything and his injury was far more serious.


LOL you're probably right. I had considered that scenario though, but for just a brief moment I thought, nah, we couldn't possibly make that mistake 3 consecutive times with the QB position (TJack, Ponder, now Teddy). We gotta learn at some point don't we?


Who you callin y'all princess lol? I never wanted us to extend him, certainly not long term. The only thing I said was he was worth $28m a year if he could continue playing like he did in the opener. And that was before we knew about the mysterious knee injury that's now a complete deal breaker. So I'm ready to move on from Bradford and he's a far superior QB than Teddy.


That's not saying much when the other 2 are TJack and Ponder lol. Even I agree that TB is the best out of the 3. The problem is, he's still a bust just like they were. At least TJack wasn't taken in the 1st round like the other 2. But since Teddy was taken in the 1st, he's playing way below expectations and what's worse, he's never shown any sings of improvement. His 29th start looked no better than the first few.


Well as Nemmy has correctly reminded me, we'll probably see a regression at first due to there being some rust and him maybe not fulling trusting his knee, so we won't see any improvement this year, and we'll most likely not address the QB position in the off season, and that means if Teddy doesn't improve, we're going to be mediocre again next year.


Yes! .... This is the NFL and people want the players who give us the best chance to win. That's my opinion anyway. But I don't recall too many people asking for us to sign Sam long term and I think it had a lot to do with his knee history.

I was one who wanted us to extend Bradford. I was wrong. Fortunately, Speilman is a whole lot smarter than I am about this stuff (of course, he also has much more access to health records regarding his knee and expert doctors who know what it all means). One of the reasons I refer to Rick with some level of respect and don't call him things like "Spieldope".....

Right.....  If Rick isn't smarter than me, then I'm either a fricken genius or we are totally screwed.  (sorry, I literally just rewatched all three Austin Powers movies over the last three nights - retirement is a really great gig!)

One of the worst drafts ever? Really? Even if we say Treadwell busts (which he probably will), Alexander has looked far better so far this season (in an already bigger sample size than last year) and he has the makings of a starter. And Spielman flipped the 3rd round pick for two more picks in 2017, which looks like a really solid class.

Plus his 2015 draft class is one of the best in recent memory. A legit #1 WR in the 5th round, a stellar pass rusher in the 3rd, a really good linebacker in the 2nd, you get the idea.

Why? Because the injuries both players suffered are significantly different.You keep comparing Apples to Oranges.

This discussion isn't about who is the better QB,it's about one guy who has suffered an ACL (twice) and another guy who destroyed the entire structure of his knee.

Yes,Bradford is a risk,but Bridgewater is a much bigger risk in my opinion.For that reason,when doing the risk assessment for both players Bradford comes out ahead.
You have to take the emotion out of it.

I was one of the main people who wanted to extend Bradford,and still hold the same view.There are zero options available in free agency next year and Spielman has proven inept at drafting QBs,so I would rather stick with the status quo.
