Talking Points
Overall, the Vikings had a great draft with the quanity and quality of players that were chosen at positions of need.
They did fail to upgade the G positions which has been a major liabilty of the team for the past 3 years.
Justin Jefferson (A) Great value at position of need, I think he will start and will have as much or more production than Diggs did last year.
Jeff Gladney (A) Great cover corner, plays with an edge. He will start and be better than Rhodes was last year day 1.
Ezra Cleavland (B) He could turn out to be an A if he can come in and start at G day 1. If he is not able to start day 1 at LT or G it is not a good pick
Cammeron Dantzler (A) Great pick, excellent tall and rangy cover corner. Upgrade over Rhodes day 1 competes for starting job.
D.J. Wonnum (B) A bit of a project with high upside.
James Lynch (A+) Very disruptive and excellent inside pass rusher. Day 1 upgrade and starter at (3 tech)
Troy Dye (A) Tacklig machine, great value pick. Could compete for a starting job at WSL
Harrison Hand (B-)
K.J. Osborn (C+) Grade could move to a B if he becomes an above average starting returner.
Blake Brandell (B+) Grade could move to an A if he can play G and compete for a starting job
John Metullus (B) Good value
Kenny Willekes (A+) Exceelent productive player and a great playmaker, Excellent pass rusher,
Nate Stanley (A) Very underartted, and a great value pick. He has a great chance of winning backup QB job
Brian Cole (B)
Kyle Hinton (A) Finally drafted a player whose true position is guard. He is very strong at point of attack.
overall I give them an A- for the entire draft.
They still need to trade for an upgrade at G this year to have a competive line to be able to compete in the playoffs this year. They still have a major issue at the G positions. They need to watch the final cuts from other teams to see if an upgrade at G becomes avaliable or they need to trade for an upgrade. Thsy cannot go into this year with Elflein as a starter, He is not even a good backup and has no business starting. Bradburry needs to get stronger and improve his play this year as well,I have no idea who is going to be our starting guards this year. Major problem. Klein was average last year but they let him go. Eflein was terrible, he has no business on the field this year.
