Talking points
After spending some more time gathering information and watching some tape on players that should be avaliable at our pick numbers.
I have attempted to draft positions of imediate need trying to fill WR, CB, OT, G, DT (3tech). situtational edge rusher/ DE. QB dual threat project
Attention Vikings management feel free to take notes
1) Kristen Fulton CB LSU, He will be able to step in day 1 and compete for a stating job or be the nickelback day one
1) Isaiah Wilson OT Georgia. You could probably trade down to the bottom of the 1st or top of the second and obtain an extra pick. But I would take him there. He is much better than Austin jackson & Josh jones. Not even close. He is stronger, longer arms played against better competition. He can move people in the running game and open large holes for the RB. Thats the main job of an offensive tackle. who cares about a forty time or if a tackle is more athletic if they can't overpower and beat there man at the line of scrimage. Enough said. He could be day one LT or RT starter and move O-Neil to left tackle.
2) Denzell Mims, Brandon Aiyuk, Tee Higgins WR. We will need to trade up with 2 of the 7th round picks and take whichever one of these are there. I have them rated all about the same.Day1 number 2 receiver starter.
3)James Lynch DT (3 tech) Baylor. Big 12 defensive player of the year 19,5 tfl 13.5 sacks. Very disruptive and productive. He competes for starting job day1. If not there than take Rakween Davis Alabama DT (3tech) 6'6" 315
3) Robert Hunt 6'5" 322 Louisana , John Simpson 6' 4" 330 Clemson G's. Either one would be a major upgrade over Eflein. 2 massive & atheletic lineman
4) Tyler Johnson Minnosota or if not there John Hightower Boise State 6'2" 172 4.42, 18.5 YPC `WR's. productive slot receiver, another weapon on offense
5) Khaleke Hudson WLB Michagan 4.59, 83 tackles 18,5 tfl. Competition and depth at WLB
6) Joseph Charlton P South Carolina 27 punts of at least 50 yards in 2018. 73 yarder career high in 2017. 47.4 average in 2019.
6) Benito Jones NT OLE Miss 2 down run stuffer
7) traded this pick to move up in the 2nd round
7) traded this pick to move up in the 2nd round
7) Bryce Perkins QB Virginia dual threat big play QB 2018 2600 passing yards & 900 yards running. He and Kyle murray was the only player to do that in 2018.
This will give us the best value players at positions of needs. Feel free to opine but remember to keep it pithy!
