Sloter isnt that good of a QB and he went like 13 weeks before being placed on a active roster so obviously every GM didnt see him as a guy worth a roster spot when we let him go.

Why do so many people put so much faith in the opinions of NFL GM's/coaches when it comes to QB's when they get it wrong as often as they do lol? Were the 30 owners/GM's/coaches/scouting departments wrong when they passed on Brady 6 times in 2000? Or the 24 who passed on Rodgers? Or the 30 who passed on Lamar? Or the 74 who passed on Wilson?

I could do this all day. How bout the Bears trading up to grab Trubisky over Mahomes? Pace certainly knows his QB's doesn't he? Aren't the Bengals glad they took WR John Ross ahead of Mahomes too? Boy, Dalton is just as good as Mahomes now with that target to throw to.

JaMarcus Russell, Ryan Leaf, Ponder, Bortles, EJ Manuel, Manziel, Winston, Mariota, Gabbert, Bradford, and Sanchez. Kurt Warner? Wasn't he bagging groceries before leading the Rams/Cardinals to Super Bowls? The list goes on. In fact you could probably flip a coin on every QB drafted and end up with the same results as NFL execs, but when it comes to Sloter, they all got it right this time lol. Clearly they all know what they're doing when it comes to the easiest position in football to grade. *coffee*

You’re trying to compare apples to oranges. We’ve had this argument before. Tom Brady didn’t spend time on 4 teams before it was recognized that he belongs in the league and on a roster. It’s foolish equating a draft mistake to a failure to recognize the talent of a player who has been in league for a number of years competing and practising at this level and has spent countless hours working with numerous coaches everyday. Kurt Warner is the only potentially equivalent story, assuming Sloter were to succeed at some point, but Warner is the exception, not the rule. For every Warner, there are hundreds of “developmental” QBs who bounce around the league for a few years before fizzling out and never being heard from again.

The obsessive cult following around a player that is still struggling to make or hold a roster spot 3 years into his career is baffling to me. But I guess only fans understand how important 3rd string preseason play is

At this point there is no silver lining or saving grace. This team is what they are and no decision on playing/not playing will make any difference going forward. They are all maxed out and we know or people should know what we are by now.

If you have hope it's only false hope. It's been proven time after time and there isn't enough luck on this earth for this staff and team to win a SB. The miracle was given. We got a miracle and did nothing with it. When a team can't beat a single good team why do people still actually think there is even a sliver of a chance we can beat 3 winning teams from the NFC then beat a team from the AFC the better teams from the NFC couldn't beat.

We haven't had that much luck if you combine every Viking season from 1961 to present. You don't need a crystal ball to see what this team is. Well you shouldn't if you do that answers all most need to know.

I don't want them to lose I just want the owners to be smart and move on. Beating 10 crap teams to get a 6th seed isn't impressive in the least. Fools gold just like Spielman and Zimmer.

it doesnt take 3 yrs to figure it out. This idea that we need to spend years developing guys is non sense. We need the deepest roster possible, every year. You cannot do that hoping guys develop.

And we're paying our oline to block, without blocking i dont care who the QB is your not winning many games. The reason Dennis Green made the playoffs almost every year was because we had a top oline despite having a new QB almost every year.

Brady was like 21-22, was outplayed by Drew Henson most of his SR year & and didn't take a single snap his rookie year. Brady was projected to go where he was drafted. Sloter didnt make the Broncos roster when they had no one at QB & beat up 3rd/4th string defenses and people act like he was ripping the 2000 Ravens apart

The other thing I like about playing ALL backups is that it gives the backups a full game of game time reps right before playoffs.... should an injury happen to a starter in the playoffs....

Yeah if game time mattered as to coaches pulling underperforming starters. It's been proven that Zimmer will not change starters unless it's caused by injury and most times it won't matter if a backup shines they are done as soon as the previous starter is healthy. Has Hill looked worse than Reiff? Dozier vs Elflein how about Hill vs Rhodes or anyone other than Hughes returning punts? They never look for better production nor do many earn their spots. As we learned early and often spots are given before camp ever starts.
