I highly doubt anything will change next year that will make it a huge mistake to have not resigned earlier. I think we know now what this group will be. They made the playoffs so the idea of firing them after this year is a bad look. I understand it likely means one more season of under achieving before the inevitable rebuild but makes the most practical sense to me.
That said, my only real disagreement with what you posted is that I would keep Rick. I know his critics are legion, but he's my favorite Viking GM of all time (primarily because of his performance in the draft and his success in retaining our own guys).
I would not be against retaining Rick.
. We've done better in the second half of round one (Kramer @ 27, Teddy @ 32), and that's as high as I would go. Fran was technically a third round pick in 1961, but that was before the merger and that top pick in the third round was actually pick #29; so about where we took Tommy and Teddy.
... and neither is this Chris guy.
