Depends on what plays. I have called out the refs for bad calls going the Vikings way.
When I post, "Barr got away with one," or "Smith was early on that hit," who do you think I am talking about?
Do you really believe the Seahawks had a near perfect game against the Vikings? Why are the Packers penalized so little at home? Why did the Patriots penalties get overlooked in their comeback Super Bowl game?
Maybe. When we commit vastly less penalties in a game then the other team, do you assume it's due to officiating bias like your doing with SEA?
I'm willing to bet nearly every team is penalized less at home then away. That's for a variety of reasons, most of them being its easier to avoid penalties when you control the tempo of the game.
But, how do we know that happened? What if a Pat's fan says the exact opposite, and claims that the Falcons were the ones getting penaltys overlooked? Please dont attempt to support your baseless assertion by merely asserting your baseless assertion.
I'm not just saying, "Hey, we be gettin' ripped off, man!" I look at the game and see things on both sides, and I call it as I see it. When I saw the Lions defenders popping our offensive linemen in the jaw, I stated that the refs are missing that. I also said I bet they flag a Vikings defender for doing the same thing later, and they did.
The refs can call a game tight, or they can call a game loose, but calling it tight for one team and loose for the other is unfair no matter which team is the home team.
I see the Vikings defenders get called for defensive holding by just brushing up with the defender. When I see opposing defenders engage and inhibit our receivers without a flag thrown, it is upsetting because the Vikings were called for less.
The out of bounds tackle was not called on the Lions, but Xavier Rhodes was flagged on an almost identical situation a few games ago. Is it a penalty or isn't it?
What about OPI? The Seahawks receivers pushed off for space the entire game. Number of penalties? Zero We are not talking hand play; these were arms extended pushes. We know Thielen has been called for doing this, so why not the Seahawks?
The Vikings are the ONLY team in the NFL that had a touchdown taken away because of a booth review that called a penalty on someone other than the receiver or defender, and in that case, the defender had engaged to disrupt the progress of the second player and was in no place to make the play by his actions.
Did you even watch the Vikings vs the Saints in the NFCCG? It was all well and done to punish the Saints after the fact, but how does that compensate for the referees allowing obvious infractions and then flagging the Vikings on a phantom call?
How about the Cowboys? Vikings fans say Drew Pearson pushed off, which he did, but that could be called either way depending on what the refs saw. Not many people bring up the holding on that play or the fourth down play earlier in the drive that the refs ruled in bounds even though the receiver landed out of bounds mostly by his own momentum. More recently, we know Sam Bradford took a face smash on a crucial play, and the ref said, "shoulder" and walked off like he knew better.
Yes, the Vikings sometimes get those calls. Even against the Lions, there were some close calls that could have been flagged but should not have been. Kudos to the refs for calling those properly both ways. That doesn't mean I should sit on my hands and not post to a Vikings live chat during the game when I see calls that I believe are made improperly. I surely don't need to be called out every time I do, and neither does anyone else on this board. One should be able to disagree and make a case without over generalizations. We are not talking about Kennedy assassination conspiracies here; we are talking basic football.
P.S. Kent Hrbek pulled Ron Gant off of first base during the World Series. He should have been safe.
