To be fair, the 2 teams who have won their division despite being below .500, the 2010 Seahawks (7-9) and the 2014 Panthers (7-8-1), both won their home playoff game, proving they deserved them. They lost their home wildcard game to Kaepernick xD.

I really don't like the SOS argument because it's the NFL and all teams have an even playing field. It's not college where recruiting matters. If you're bad it's usually because your franchise made some bad decisions, or have had injury problems. And "any given Sunday" comes into play.

Some Vikings fans always look to discredit everything the Vikes do. That's not true literally, as they had their best WRs, O-linemen, D-linemen out there...

Plus some of the guys who got hurt, like Slay and Davis, checked in shortly after their injuries. I think they still had their starting core of Slay-Melvin-Coleman at the end of the game, so your exaggeration is skewing how things actually went.

The schedule would be a bit random every year xD.

If you go to two conferences you lose the regional rivalries which is a big draw. Yeah, we'll still hate the Packers, but there would be no reason to play them twice, and even when you do play them the games won't have the same weight in terms of winning the division/making the playoffs. I don't want a setup where a game versus the Packers or Bears is no more meaningful than a game versus the Cardinals or Giants or other distant trash.

One change that probably makes some sense is once the teams that make the playoffs are set, reorder them by record so the team with the better record isn't playing on the road to the Cowboys. Beyond that I think the regional rivalries are just too important to screw with.

Oh I get it and understand I just never like teams that work hard that get knocked out vs a team that doesn't win games and also gets the advantage of hf.

I seriously doubt the 9ers are worried about the Cowboys but they still get robbed. In my scenario the Cowboys wouldn't even be in the mix and no lower win team would be at home. That's why it's called an advantage.

It wouldn't change anything within a division it would just change postseason seating. I dont want rivalries to end although some have and life goes on.

You may have years where 3 teams make it from 1 divison but you can have that now. It would just seat them in the W-L order.

We could have a ten win or more team not make the playoffs in the NFC because of the Cowboys or Eagles winner of their division.

Tell ya what. Match up who was left then take away our players in same positions and see what you end up with. Then when you do that tell me how well we would do on the road.

I can tell you for starters we would have Kirk Joseph and Rudy Kendricks out without looking at other injuries along with 2CB DE and God know how else. They came in short handed and lost a bunch of guys.

Who did they lose? Slay and Davis both got hurt, but returned. Davis left again late in the 4th

I agree. I think the 6 best records should be in the post season. At the minimum, give the teams with the 4 best records the home games in the nfl.

i think it would be great if you couldnt dodge the best teams in the conference. Please eliminate the divisions.

They missed some pretty big obvious penalties against the Lions this week that were ALL called against the Vikings in the past few weeks.

Lions were big time Illegal Hand to the Face early ... no call. Vikings get called on it later.

Helmet to the head on defenseless receiver? Lions not called. Vikings get called on that.

Obvious Offensive Pass Interference on that Lions drive ... no call. Rhodes called for the same thing time and time again.

The refs see what they see, but they will send the Vikings a note saying they blew these calls.

What are the odds that if we ask a Lions fan, he will raise just as many criticisms of the refs that you just did? Criticisms that you didnt notice or dont consider valid?

Exactly. I live in Austin Texas, we get the cowboys and Texans games every week here. Watched a majority of the cowboys games this year, they do not execute very well. They don’t deserve to have a home game in the playoffs. Btw Jason Garrett is not a good coach. People here call him the clapper. Whenever something goes wrong or Isn’t executed right, he just claps.
