I don’t want to go back and forth with this, but I haven’t said anything that was false. Whether or not the Ravens officially confirmed Ray Lewis’ reports is important how? Are you suggesting Lewis lied? The Ravens may not have confirmed anything but they also did not deny it either, which is more telling if you ask me. Lewis’ account was quite specific, including discussions he had with the owner. What reason would he have to lie about that.
As for the Seahawks, they were in contract talks with him in 2017 that fell apart due to money. A year later in 2018 they had planned a tryout that got cancelled because he refused to stop kneeling.
Anyways there are significant differences between the PR issues you’ve referred to. The legal issues don’t really compare, because the players in question take responsibility, apologize and promise to be good soldiers in the future. The PR storm around Hill, Hunt, etc are short term, and while what they did is certainly significantly worse than Kaepernick, the issue isn’t something that will linger over the team long term if the player stays out of trouble. With Kaep, he continues to refuse to work on the teams terms, he refuses to let the PR storm die.
And on top of all of that, it’s also very different, morally just or not, when a NFL star is caught up in a PR issue. Hill and Hunt’s talents justify the teams in giving them a second chance, given the player repents and stays out of trouble. Kaepernick may not have played himself out of the league, but his play in the last 3 years of his career did not justify the sh*t storm that would come with him. The media distraction is not worth employing a fringe starter/backup level player the same way it is employing an elite talent
Thats what I said, only with good spelling and grammer! ;P
