I have not posted since our winning streak but some personal changes and better coaching schemes offensively & defensively will need to be addressed ASAP or will will fail to make the playoffs this year
Two major personal changes need to occur ASAP
Last weeks redskins game and today reaffirmed it today
Riddle me this Vikings MGT & offensive coaching staff how many penalties does Elfein have to get during the Washington game to be benched immediately. I remember 3 or 4 that game that single handling stalled drives. How many does it take in one game 5, 6. This does not count the many times he was being manhandled when he was not holding his man. Any great coach Parcells, Belechick, Payton would have benched him after 3. He showed again today that he is to small and not strong enough in pass protection to be starting. He is hurting our offense. he needs to be benched. Play anybody that is stronger at the point of attack that can neutralize his man.
Rhodes was horrible against Washington and again not very good today. Stop making excuses for him. He needs to have his role limited as a 3rd or 4th DB.
Play combo of Hughes and Hill more instead until his play improves in a limited role. if his play is better than Hughes or Hill work him back into the starting lineup.
You need to have a week to week competition playing different combos of the 4 DBS.
Zman got out coached today by Reid on both sides of the ball. He for the second week in a row did not have the team ready to play
Blame for today's Chiefs loss
Offensive
1) OC terrible play calling in crucial 4th quarter when we needed a drive to milk the clock and points to seal the win. 30% blame.
2) Cousins played poorly today. Missed too many open receivers, dumb slide before getting enough yards for crucial first down 20%
3) Elfin was beaten badly again today at key times that stalled important drives. Klein today starts getting holding penalties. Elfein must be rubbing off on him 10%
4) Baily missing an extra point at a key time, you can't do that against good teams and expect to win. You are beating yourself. No percentage but bad play
Defensive
DC & Zman too conservative schemes and play calling. Made Moore look like an all pro. We needed more aggressive blitzing to disrupt the QB quicker. Allowing a long untouched run after just gaining the lead. Very bad. 20%
DB play Rhodes again can't cover anyone, and kept trying to cover the taller bigger Kelcie with to small of corner Alexander again and again, Dumb & dumber 10%
The vikings coaching staff got out coached, two players are hurting this teams chances of winning. Elfein & Rhodes must be benched. Cousins shrank under pressure again against a good team on the rode. The DB's need to do better. Play Hill & Hughes more against faster WR's. The OC & Kuback need to adjust and come up with different and better play selections in the 4th quarter instead of running the same plays that the defensive has seen and stopped before. Example today you could have did more reverses with the Wr's as the chiefs were jamming the line in 8 man fronts over pursuing the RB. Perfect time for another reverse or other misdirection plays to keep the defense honest and off balance.
