No idea why they call him Coupons, but it's a thing. lol.
Okay, it wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be! Whew!

What they're saying:
Gut tells me Kirk Cousins gets us again.
Nope. Kirk gets it like Case did.
Huge game. They won in Green Bay, they can win this in my opinion.
Nervous about how our pass defense holds up. Cousins usually falters against a strong pass rush and solid defense, ours has not played to that yet.
I don't have a 'positive vibe' about this game in Minnesota.
Without Djax it automatically means Alshon will be mirrored all game. Meaning Ertzy and crew have to step up.
Honestly it hasnt been talked about much, but Carson Wentz shud be in that damn MVP talk. He's flying under the radar big time.
Mahomes Wentz McAffrey shud be well ahead of the pack.

I hate to have to say this (AGAIN) but the reason that the offense is struggling right now is because, without DJax, the wide receivers are as bad as last year. So far, JJAW is doing nothing.
Hopefully, things will change - SOON.

we are the better team here, no doubt it my mind. The defense is gonna ride that momentum from the Jets game i think and take it Cousins. We know were gonna stuff the run but have to be careful with Cook catching some screens in space. You know that stadium is gonna be going nuts like its the super bowl.

The defense has to step up like they did against the Jets. If it wasn’t for Cousins I’d be more worried since they have a great running game and receiving corps. Their Defense is pretty good too.
It’ll be a game where whichever offense can get the defense off their game, will win. This’ll be a test for Wentz and co for sure.

I dont have a good feeling about this one.
If eagles win it will be due to the eagles defense. I think Wentz and company will struggle but do just enough, our D will have to have a great game.
Pass rush needs to show up or the eagles lose in my opinion. Can’t let cousins sit back comfortably waiting for diggs and thielen to get open. If the pass rush shows up we have a much better chance
Knowing our birds, cousins will find a way to win with a 58% passing, 1 TD 1 INT kind of day.
I’m confident our D can contain Cook. That’s what they’re best at. My concern is how many personnel it’ll take. If our corners are out there alone with Diggs and Thielen and the pass rush is having one of their slow days, it could get ugly even if Cook’s only averaging 2.5 ypc. Limiting Cook + hurrying Cousins = win. Their OL doesn’t scare me. This should be a competitive game the Birds win, but everyone needs to stay sharp.
Kirk Cousins vs 2017 Eagles: 0-2
Kirk Cousins vs Eagles otherwise: 5-1
Do not take the f*cker lightly – and no, he wasn’t carried by the defense or skill position guys during those wins.

One of two things needs to happen:
- The front four get enough pressure and the rest of the D protects the CBs in coverage and focuses on stopping Cook
- Jiiim calls up the heat on run blitzes to stuff Cook at the line and to get after Cousins fast hoping he doesn’t get the ball out
From what I watched of the Chicago game, the Vikings are very susceptible to pressure up the middle, so hopefully Cox is running at full steam for this game. Coupons fumbled twice in that game and held the ball way too long.

Eagles are going to have to take shots downfield to loosen that Minny defense up and keep them honest. They are going to just sit on routes and creep their safeties and backers up to stop the run and underneath routes. Between Nelly, Mack, Goedert and Zach, we have to get them shots downfield. I don’t think Alshon’s calf is fully healed yet. He still looks kind of slow.
For some reason they are protecting Xavier Rhodes.
Not sure he is 100% but they started cheating Harrison Smith over to protect him at the Giants. Keeping Harrison Smith out of the box would do wonders for the running game if they can start beating Rhodes down the field a few times.

Rhodes has looked mediocre at best.
He also holds on almost every play. I am not sure if he is injured, but he isn’t playing anywhere close to how he played two years ago.

Biggest game of the season here imo.
Win this and we gain a truckload of confidence in this BRUTAL 6 game stretch. Lose this game and it don’t get no easier. These next 6 teams all have top notch defenses, we need the offense to really click, the Dline needs to continue getting pressure and stay healthy. Huge game this weekend.

Wentz record vs teams with +500 or 500 and under:
"Cousins is 4-24 all-time against teams that finish the season with a winning record. Ergo, Cousins typically doesn’t beat good teams."
that is a really bad stat and dosent seem right. I am curious if that is but I don’t care enough to look it up but here is the stats I did on wentz myself.
in games wentz started and finished 2016 – 2018
Carson Wentz vs + 500 teams 10 W – 12 L
Carson Wentz vs 500 or under Teams 14 W – 3 L

More often than not, QBs have losing records vs. good teams.
There are very few exceptions, like Russell Wilson who is one of the few QBs to having a winning record vs. teams finishing the year above 0.500
The reason Cousins gets brought up with this stat, is that he is absurdly low. The QBs in his tier are Bortles and Winston, which don’t need further explanation. That record for Cousins is indeed for teams that finish above 0.500.
But a QB who is worse than Cousins? Matt Stafford. But he doesn’t get nearly the same amount of abuse, quite the opposite actually.

I've seen a lot of Kirks and Staffords failures.
I have not seen Stafford go into a turtle shell. I’ve seen plenty of games where he took 6+ sacks and still stood in there and played well. I’ve seen plenty where Kirk was abysmal and scared of imaginary pressure.

We are going to embarrass the Vikings.
Doug started to get into mid season form.

Vikings have been hot and cold week to week, hopefully they keep up that trend... Cousins always gives us trouble, but we finally beat Rodgers the other week, so no reason we can't get over the tiny hump that is Kirk Cousins.
wish it was a night game, would be an easy win
1 o'clock Kirk can fool you into thinking he's good

Getting a win somehow in Minnesota could go a long way for this team heading into Dallas the following week. I just don't have much faith with the CB's we are having to trot out there, not facing a 3rd string QB.
We have a hard enough time limiting Thielen and Diggs fully healthy let alone the Scrubs having to Start now. Hopefully Kirk channels some of his inner Primetime Magic and we can get some TO's?
Gonna be interesting.

Hopefully the d-line shows some consistency and gets to Kurt Coupons early and often. Shut down the running game and rattle him.
No idea why they call him Coupons, but it's a thing. lol.
If we contain Dalvin Cook, we win this game.
As long as Kirk Cousins doesnt go Super Saiyan, I like our chances.
I'm surprised you guys are so confident. If it were in Philly id completely get it. But the Vikings defense is a different animal at US Bank stadium. Its hard to sustain drives vs them without a deep threat as D-Jax is still gimped i think. The Eagles offense will need to be a lot better then they were vs the Jets. Good Luck sunday and no injuries.
Thielen and Diggs... its gonna be a long day for the secondary. Have to continue to get pressure to Cousins and not give him much time to throw the ball (hopefully Schwartz continues to blitz).
Forgot about Sendejo's knowledge of the Vikings Defense , scheme and Zimmer's play calling Tendencies with exotic blitzes? Curious to see hiw much if any he actually helped Groh, Pederson and the OL this week?
Watching Groh's presser, that's the impression I came away with.

All hands on deck vs the run...Dalvin is good. Bring pressure to get the ball out of Kirk's hand quick...Do not let the crowd get involved.
