Giants are a work in progress they certainly are not the Chicago Bears, they will have to be ready because the Viking have the weapons from the RB out to the WRs and are going to come here and try to get that offense healthy mentally against us, they have the whole 9 yards RB/ TE and WRs decent screen game and a good run game this will be a big time challenge for the Giants young and budding defense, especially missing a bunch of LBs against that run game and the screen mixed in.

I think we can beat them..........that Cousins deal is looking like a bust for them.

It will be a test for sure. This is the first top defense we faced since DJ started. Minnesota is ranked 5. Our 2 losses came against Dallas and Buffalo ranked 3 and 5 respectively. Our 2 wins came against Tampa and Washington ranked 30 and 31 respectively.

It going to be tough without SB . They are a balanced team . I am looking forward to it. I am not optimistic simply because I don't think our Defense is good enough and turnovers will be costly in this game.

It will be a tough game to win. We can not turn the ball over against Cousins. He will take advantage of mistakes.

I agree but Cousins is a head case and if he starts to mess up then he is done. He has this chip on his shoulder like he's been disrespected as a QB. When he was on the Skins if he got a first down pass lay off he would get all "pumped up". Too much so.

Now they may have some inside issues between the players it wont take much for Cousins to implode IMO. He also now has the added pressure due to his ridiculous contract......

The Bears will do that to teams.

Their front 7 destroyed everything the Vikes want to do by absolutely dominating the LOS with 6 in the box,which destroys their concept of taking what teams give them at the line

Its demoralizing as hell when you rightfully check into a run with 6 in the box and it keeps getting blown up and Cousins gets hit every pass play.

Cousins is a classic front runner Qb,clean pocket and starts out hot he is good,when he gets hit and faces adversity he falls apart.

Anything can happen on any given Sunday but this won’t be easy.

I don’t think Kirk Cousins is very good but never thought of him as a head case.

Heck, I thought he was cool as a cucumber the way he negotiated his contracts with Washington Redskins and then the Minnesota Vikings.

The good news Kirk Cousins is their QB. The bigger the game the smaller he plays..

The bad news, the Vikings defense is solid across the board. They will not make it easy on a rookie QB and a team that has no Barkley.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves as fans. This Viking game is going to be tough. Just like the Giants when they were counted out they came out swinging. I have a feeling the Vikings are going to be a tough opponent.

Just hope the addition of Tate elevates our offense to the point it matches up against the toughest D we will face.

As for our defense, I don't know. Connelly was such a bright spot, we are still very young and raw. And our inside LBs are really not good.

Okay, so the Giants have proven their mettle...

Now they take a step towards playing a solid defensive team in the Vikings

Less mistakes otherwise it will be too costly to overcome

Tate back is not a savior but a good weapon for DJ and his confidence and I am sure he is itching to play...

Gallman have the same type of game

Miss Connolly, just means the D has to step up as a team; Jenkins now should be feeling it and the rookie CBs begin to mesh

4.5 point underdogs at home; I think is a good motivator for the GMEN

If they score early, special teams delivers again, I am feeling like a W and a respectable 3-2 I may be getting sucked in since I am a myopic fan

Vikes have issues, but they have talent. I think people are underestimating them bc they aren't playing well right now. There D can make it really hard on us, and the offense just needs to have a day where Cousins feels good, they have a great duo at WR. This will not be a cakewalk.

Everyone forgetting that our HC knows that O pretty well & knows what they like to run from that 12 package. I think the key will be to trying to jump out to an early 10+ pt lead, get the crowd yelling out their QB on the field & putting serious pressure on Cousins. DJ will probably end up being our leading rusher in this game as I think he may have to get 5-6 1st dns with his legs. Tate/Shep/Engram will have to have strong games as well.

This game isnt going to be a given. They have top players at WR, RB, and TE, as well as a top notch defense to go along with it. This is going to be a real test for Danny Dimes, and I hope he lives up to the challenge.

They are going to exploit the middle of the field and try to keep the clock on their side..... As long as Jenkins and Baker are holding their own.

I can see our DB’s taking a step back after two steps forward this week. I don’t know if we have the manpower to shut down Thielen, Diggs, AND Cook. I’d rank Evans above either of them, but if the defense reverts back to its play during weeks one and two we’ll be in a lot of trouble. They’re trying to work out the kinks and who better to explode against than the Giants? The cookie always seems to crumble that way.

I am going to say I don't like this game a bit. Minny is a beaten down team that has talent and a QB that scares me. He WONT miss easy pass plays like Keenum did which could have been 2 long ball scores.

Minny's D is #6 overall and will be a challenge for our new QB and team but I hope that we can stretch the field a bit with Tate and Slayton to open up things for Engram and Shepherd

Their offense scares me with Diggs/thielen for long balls and they had the leading RB too. This is a huge test for the 2-2 NYG to see if the 2 last games were timing/luck or maybe they are turning the corner.

I think if the D plays well we can win and if they don't run wild in our secondary like Tampa did.

ALL HANDS ON DECK! Somehow the Giants need to create that NY Yankee magic of rebounding strong from injuries. In my mind it's RT that has to be the only place... there and QB that we CANNOT accept an injury. Remmers is that imporntant our season. He is the key.

Man we got to watch out for this receiver Thielen-- We talked about. missed throw Cousins to Thielan well this has taken on a life of it's own in Minnesota with Thielen complaining about the QB on some podcast and now Cousins actually apologizing!

-Cousins on his KFAN show, 1 “I really want to apologize to (Thielen) because there’s too many opportunities where we could have hit him on Sunday & post game when I talk to the media I always say ‘Hey until I watch the film it’s hard for me to really give you a straight answer...

So Cousins To Thielen has to be watched, the QB is going to want to make up for last week's miss and try us long...
The Giants have yielded a 99.3 opponent's passer rating this season, they rank 20th in Football Outsiders' pass defense DVOA, and they just sustained injuries to multiple defensive starters. This provides an opportunity for the Minnesota passing game to get itself on track.

Through four weeks, the Minnesota Vikings’ passing game is one of the least effective in the NFL.

31st in passing yards
24th in passing Expected Points Added
28th in PFF team passing grade
21st in team QB rating
19th in adjusted net yards per attempt

There is big pressure to get the passing game going and to use play action. Don't bite on the play action they cannot run well.. let them run force them to run... they are so anxious to pass.

Cousins is currently ranked 22nd out of 27 qualifying quarterbacks by Pro Football Focus-
By ESPN’s 1-100 QBR system, which attempts to take into account game situation with performance, Cousins is 32nd (29.2) of 33 QBs.

Cousins has traditionally been one of the best play-action quarterbacks in the NFL, ranking fourth last year in passer rating off a play-fake. This year he’s 19th of 22 qualifying QBs.<- Thus the talk at practice...

Cousins is holding the ball too long and the Vikings can’t pass protect = BLITZ!!!!

- On five of his six sacks against the Bears, he held the ball for more than 2.5 seconds.
Overall he ranks dead last for time from snap to throw at 2.90 seconds

SO HE HOLDS THE BALL TOO LONG yet the recent Bear game brought this comment: Mike Zimmer all but said his QB had the yips---

“I think there were times that he might have got rid of it a little too soon,” he said. “When you’re getting pounded a few times, sometimes you’ve got to take the quick throw.”

CONFUSING! The stats say he holds too long and gets obliterated the coach says he's shell shocked and getting the ball off to soon... Confused offense to say the least.

With only 10 deep throws through four weeks, Cousins is 26th in attempts downfield, ranking behind Ben Roethlisberger, who played two games.

GUARD THE DEEP BALL... PLAY ACTION FAKE & AND THEY GO LONG TO Thielen! 

This is a big test. They have some fire power on O and their pass rush is pretty good. I don't see Giants winning this but I'll be rooting like crazy.

I feel like we are getting a very talented team at the right time, when they’re dealing with some internal turmoil. We also have some mojo going. And we are home.
