I couldn't find age statistics for the 53 man roster this year or I would have used them. He's still scarcely past the average age for 2018, by several months.
All this amounts to is the age old argument between shut up, stay in line and do what you're told vs workplace rebellion for progress and everyone's good. I think Diggs is on the right side of that argument. If the Vikings don't like it, I'm quite certain there are teams who will take Diggs and his contract in 2 seconds flat.
How does staying away help with progress? How does that help the team?
No one has an issue with him voicing his frustrations to his bosses. No one. Sure, go to Stefanski, Kubiak, Zimmer, and Spielman about what you're seeing, what you'd like to see, what you can do to help the team. DO THAT! Absolutely! That's a leader! Throwing a tantrum, skipping media sessions, skipping meetings, skipping practices, adding fuel to the fire with your "there is truth to all rumors" is NOT what a leader does, and it certainly isn't going to help the team.
If he wanted to help the team, he should have shown up this week, put in the work, and allowed the coaching staff and his teammates to focus solely on the New York Giants, not his feelings. Leadership abilities aside, that's what a good teammate would have done. Show up to work and keep grinding with everyone else. What he did helped no one.
