Why is this "Diggs to be traded" rumor so popular?

Yes.

Diggs and Theilen have had no problems getting open this year... for what it's worth, their QB isn't even throwing it to them when that happens... there's not much fixing that for what it's worth.


Frustrating can certainly be used to describe it, but we've got a QB who has rapidly regressed in a year's time and there doesn't seem to be much there to fix it. I'm not optimistic that we'll be 6-2 over the next quarter as some have implied. This team is not in sync enough to do that. If we are, perhaps some of these things iron themselves out, but I'm not holding my breath. KC is seeing ghosts when he drops back... Perhaps he needs to talk to Reignman about that... 

You must be from the Zimmer coaching tree.  You can't wait until things break down in the running game to start using your elite wide receivers. You need to use them ALL the time, including when you are up 28-0, the running game is working great, and there is almost zero risk in doing so. 

Nope. He did not slow down, the announcer just said he did and you believed him more than your own eyes. Watch the replay.


Yes, after making a great TD catch he did that. It also wouldn't have mattered if we could have blocked properly on the extra point.


Yes, a guy with really good ball security throughout his entire career did fumble and it was costly. He also caught for over a 100 that game.




I don't like he didn't come to practice either. Maybe he feels that the team is going to stick with the status quo if he doesn't do something about it? Bad decision, but it is the first time he has ever done anything like this in his career.



Terrible take. Diggs is half of a WR duo that made Case Keenum look like a legit starter. We can't find a decent #3 WR and you think our number 1 can easily be replaced by some scrubs off the street? Wow.

Oh, stop. The point is: when the running game is stuffed, Thielen and Diggs should be able to take over the game and keep the chains moving. They weren't even given that chance in Chicago. That's a problem!

Diggs ball security and hands are quite frankly. He has some killer drops, even against Green Bay he dropped a key pass that him in the hands.

And if you catch a great TD pass you get to commit a stupid, selfish penalty? Geez, why don't more of our receivers-and receivers around the NFL take more advantage of that? Besides, if you want to scream F@&K! at the top of your lungs, you can do it with your helmet on and be heard. Adam Thielen proved that last year in Seattle. You also didn't address the probability the Vikings go for two if that penalty didn't happen. 21-18 is a more desirable score than 21-16...but you're not going for two from the 17.

It's a little premature to say we can't find a number 3 receiver, and therefore couldn't replace Diggs. We haven't passed enough to really know. Maybe Chad Beebe isn't the guy, but when they finally opened up the offense in the fourth quarter of the Chicago game, Bisi Johnson showed good things. We don't know what anyone may produce because Diggs and Thielen get all the snaps. If and when Diggs leaves, or misses a game or two (as he does every year) we'd have a better idea what someone can do in an expanded role. Like when Stefon Diggs suddenly started playing in 2015 and turned out to be pretty good.

He is a pretty good receiver, maybe even damn good. But, he has made himself a distraction with a me-first attitude for several weeks now, and the Vikings don't need that to fester. It is probably better to deal with the pain of cutting of the limb than letting gangrene set in and kill the whole team.
