And Reignman wasn't asking for any of that. Reignman just wanted to see Sloter get a shot to compete at the next level so we can find for sure he isn't a hidden gem like so many before him. Forgive me for not trusting what NFL teams think of QB's when they miss all the time. Everyone passed on Brady how many times? Nearly everyone passed on Rodgers. As mentioned by tbolt , everyone missed on Warner 100 times. And should we talk about all the busts that are drafted in the 1st round every year? Yeah, but suddenly they're all right about Sloter. We'll never know until he gets a shot will we? All we do know is, he was the best at the highest level he's gotten the opportunity to compete against. That's my reality. Don't care about any coaches opinion. If Zimmer wanted me to give 2 licks about his excuses then he should have let Sloter compete and fail more often against the 2's. Because that's the evidence I require. Zimmer couldn't even tell if Teddy was a bad QB, and he named Siemian the #2, but now suddenly he's an excellent judge of QB talent?
Warner was cut after a few weeks of camp with the Packers, and a few years later earned the backup spot after just one season with the Rams.
Sloter was cut from the Broncos after a full offseason with them, then was cut from the Vikings after being given every chance to prove he could handle the complexity of playing QB in the NFL. He can't do it. He isn't good enough and he more than likely he never will be.
Playing well against guys currently unemployed at the end of practice games doesn't change that, and lets face it, that is all you really know about the guy. That he was good against practice squad guys and guys who weren't good enough to make the practice squad, in defenses less complex than most HS defenses.
First, Brady did not shine in practice. They only went with him because Bledsoe almost died. Second, they still weren’t sold on him AFTER winning the SB as being the solution. Clearly you don’t know much about that situation.
Second, the Broncos wanted to keep Sloter on the PS. He chose the Vikings because Denver brought back Osweiler and he thought he wouldn’t get a look with 3 other guys in the QB room, but they liked him enough to want him on the PS to develop.
Third, who should he have played well against? You can only go up against your competition and they refused to put him out there.
