Ok fellow Vikings fans, I need your thoughts on the current team colors vs the past. I think of myself as an "old school" football fan. What I mean is I miss the days when the VIKINGS were a major threat to the team they were facing during game day. The name VIKINGS is a intimidating name, and when your team is given the nick-name Purple People Eaters. That sounds like something from a sci-fi movie from the 50's. I'm missing that dark purple helmet and that horn logo, and the dark purple jersey's. I think the name and the colors and look brought fear into the eyes of their opponent . Today's helmet color, horn logo and jersey color look too pastel, and girlish. I want to see this team look intimidating with the team name, the team logo and team colors. The current helmet shade is too soft and panzy looking. I would like to see the dark purple shade for the helmet come back and the past horn helmet logo. This current helmet logo looks cartoonish. This is the Minnesota Vikings, intimidating, fearce, evil, wicked mean and nasty looking. Today's uniform, and helmet colors make us look like the Minnesota Violets. Bring back the old look.
. The thing I hated about the old dark helmets was they didn't match the jerseys. I hear that was possibly because of the way TV signal rendered the helmet material differently than the jersey material. The Giants always had that problem too. But I think if things went dark enough, that wouldn't be a problem haha.
