Why do you think Zimmer is a good HC?

Yeah, this metric. You honestly believe I think Zimmer is a good coach (or say others are good or bad) by any one metric? Heck, I give Zimmer a lot of love for wins and losses, but it goes much deeper for me when you consider his AWFUL luck, with the quarterback position in particular. He's had historically bad luck, so, that makes his winning percentage that much more impressive. It makes him a good coach, when he's up there with guys who have had Wilson, Roethlisberger, Brees, etc. for all of these years. These things matter!

Also, I think some people take for granted all that he's done for this team's culture over the past handful of years. Players WANT to come to Minnesota. Players WANT to stay in Minnesota. Don't take that for granted, because it wasn't always like that, and it won't always be like that. That's because of Zimmer and the team he and Spielman have built. I, for one, welcomed and very much appreciated that shift after Frazier was let go. 


I'm not going to pile on the guy. People do that enough around here. For me, the good far outweighs the bad. Is he perfect? No. Do I think he's a good coach? Yes. Do I think he's a good enough coach to get it done? Yes. Yeah, I love Zimmer. That's no secret, but that doesn't mean I think he's perfect. Also doesn't mean I think he should be the HC for 20 more years either. I've already said, we need to make some serious noise this season and/or next, otherwise, ... it's going to hit the fan. I get that. For me, personally, Zimmer has earned the right to coach this team through 2020. It's that simple for me. This is HIS team, so let him see it through. Dance with who brung ya.
