You do realize that the postseason isn't even a possibility if the team "doesn't win games that matter"? I mean, do you even hear yourself? lol
As far as who cares about the Super Bowl ... apparently none of us, because why else would we still be here? Geez. Of course we care about the Super Bowl. But if winning the Super Bowl is your standard of what makes a good coach and/or good player, that's a bit too simplified for me, especially in the ultimate team game.
But you go ahead and keep being mad/disappointed in Zimmer. But remember that the only reason this team even has expectations to begin with is because the work he and Spielman have done over the past handful of years. Think about that for a few seconds, will you?
Me? I'm going to take my chances with someone like Zimmer. Why? Because our Vikings have been average to really good since he's taken over, yes, even despite all the issues at QB, OL, and with OC. He is a guy who consistently gives a chance to make the playoffs, regardless of circumstances. That right there is half of the battle - giving yourself a chance. He does that. Sorry you don't appreciate that. If you did, this Vikings team might be a little more enjoyable for you.
Thank You
*standing ovation*
Glad someone else sees how ridiculous the Anti-Zimheads are.
Guess they weren't fans during the Mike Tice, Brad Childress or Leslie Frazier eras....or as far back as Good Ol' Les Steckel....hell to their standards every HC in the Vikings history has been trash...Bud & Denny included, by their standards.
Zimmer is a good head coach, better than Childress or Tice or Frazier. He does share one troubling similarity with Frazier though-there's a certain backup QB who isn't getting the chances he deserves.
But my mantra is "Zimmer is good but not great" and it will stay my mantra until he shows signs of greatness. I'm happy for all of you who are content with goodness.
