Your boss is not your coach, s/he's your boss. Zimmer is a coach, and its the coaches job to have their team prepared to play. This kind of show has happened waaaaay too often with Zimmer (and just about every other Vikings coach). We hold our own against good teams and sh*t the bed against Buffalo. Every year the names change but the story remains the same.
Also, this sort of thing happens with most teams. Yes, even the Patriots. You guys just don't see it or care to, because, ya know, confirmation bias. And, well, it doesn't fit your narrative. Watch more NFL. Watch more team sports. You'll see teams looking flat left and right. It happens.
But to call for Zimmer's head all the time because he's not out there holding people's hands? That's ridiculous. He's a coach, not a babysitter. These professionals need to do 90% of this stuff on their own, and, yes, that includes finding that inner pride and motivation. No one else can give you that, especially not a coach. If you can't get up for yourself, your teammates, your family, your paycheck ... get off the field, because there's a guy behind you who can.
I didn't see the game except for our terrible-practicing 3rd string QB's TD pass. But from how it sounded on radio it wasn't one guy missing a play here and there. It it was, then that would be on the players. But It sounded like a team bed-sh*tting, or at least an offensive bed sh*tting and that's coaching.
If a large number of your manager's employees start screwing up at once, I guarantee they are going to get the blame. You alone screwing up is just one guy running the wrong route or dropping an easy catch.
