2019 Mock Draft #3 - The Final Mockdown
I'm running out of time here, so I'm going to get this out before the 7:00pm deadline. I'm going for accuracy... or at least, as much accuracy as one can hope for once 8 trades will happen.
#1
Arizona Cardinals - QB Kyler Murray
Sources are still split on whether he'll be the pick, but I think there's too much smoke to assume there's no fire here.
#2
San Fran 49ers - ED Nick Bosa
I'm confident that the 49ers are going with Bosa. They need another edge defender to pair with Dee Ford and are contemplating trading Solomon Thomas away.
#3
TRADE
Buffalo Bills - DT Quinnen Williams
The Bills are moving up to take Williams, who can do more than fill Kyle Williams' old position.
#4
TRADE
Washington Redskins - QB Dwayne Haskins
I'm totally buying into the rumor that the Skins are looking to move up for Haskins. This would be a huge move up, but potentially worth it.
#5
Tampa Bay Bucs - OLB Devin White
Some say that #5 is too high for a off-the-ball LB, but White is good enough to justify this pick.
#6
NY Giants - ED Josh Allen
The Giants should celebrate getting Allen here. He's the 3rd best prospect on my board.
#7
Jacksonville Jaguars - G/T Jonah Williams
The Jags need a LT to protect Nick Foles. Williams was a stud at 'Bama, but has short arms. He'd still make a great guard if he fails at tackle.
#8
TRADE
Atlanta Falcons - DT Ed Oliver
Teams are all over Oliver, and I'm confident somebody moves up for him. The Falcons need more talent on their D-line, and Oliver would pair well with Grady Jarrett.
#9
(traded down)
NY Jets - T Jawaan Taylor
The Jets need to find the future at LT and a RT for the intermediary. Taylor will suffice.
#10
Denver Broncos - TE T. J. Hockenson
The Broncos need more weapons on offense with Demaryius Thomas gone and Emmanuel Sanders rehabbing an Achilles injury. Hockenson should be the rare rookie TE to immediately contribute on offense.
#11
Cincinnati Bengals - LB Devin Bush
The Bengals LB department has been a wasteland the past few years, and with Burfict finally out the door, they need a new leader.
#12
Green Bay Packers - DL Rashan Gary
I'm not confident about this pick, but the Packers need a 3rd D-lineman to pair with Daniels and Clark. Gary has high potential but dangerous downside.
#13
TRADE!
NY Giants - QB Daniel Jones
The Giants have 2 firsts and should land a QB with one of them. Jones is a poor man's Eli Manning, so of course they'll draft my 6th best QB in this class.
#14
(traded down)
Detroit Lions - ED Brian Burns
The Lions could use another pass rusher with Anzah gone and Trey Flowers entering the picture. Burns isn't a good run defender but has the potential to post 10+ sacks a year.
#15
(traded down)
Oakland Raiders - DT Christian Wilkins
I could see the Raiders moving back up after hopping down 11 spots, but Wilkins would still be a great pick here.
#16
Carolina Panthers - T Andre Dillard
The Panthers need to find a replacement with Matt Kalil long gone. Dillard is a prototypical LT and reminds me of Kalil as a prospect.
#17
(traded down)
Miami Dolphins - ED Clelin Ferrell
The Fins need to go BPA here, and Ferrell would be a solid addition to their non-existent defense.
#18
Minnesota Vikings - C Garrett Bradbury
Going center here is a tad bit early, but Bradbury is a great fit for the new blocking scheme and will be ready to start day 1. Going from Elflein (PFF's worst graded center) to Bradbury should provide a solid boost.
#19
Tennessee Titans - DT Jerry Tillery
The Titans could use some help in the defensive trenches. I hear Wilkins is their favorite realistic D-line choice, though.
#20
Pittsburgh Steelers - CB Byron Murphy
The Steelers may go best DB available with the way their secondary performed last year. Be wary that the Steelers are a team who might make a crazy selection you've never heard of - expect to see Rock Ya-Sin's name here is Murphy is off the board.
#21
Seattle Seahawks - S Darnell Savage
Expect to see the Hawks move down with one of their two picks, but I'm not sure now that they have 2. The Hawks love their out-of-the-box prospects, and Savage has been gaining hype recently.
#22
Baltimore Ravens - WR Parris Campbell
Willie Snead is the Ravens' #1 WR. They need to add bodies at WR, and several other names like Marquise or AJ Brown would be great too.
#23
Houston Texans - G Cody Ford
The Texans also need to go OL BPA. Ford would match their O-line's scheme well and could end up at RT.
#24
Oakland Raiders - HB Josh Jacobs
I'm very confident about this pick. Gruden loves running the ball but has yet to find his bellcow back. Well, now he's found him.
#25
Philadelphia Eagles - DT Jeffery Simmons
The Eagles love adding to their D-line and Simmons, while still injured, would be a great pick for a future investment.
#26
Indianapolis Colts - WR D. K. Metcalf
Somebody's going to take Metcalf in the first round, and I'm not going to like it. Indy will do that foul deed.
#27
Oakland Raiders - TE Noah Fant
With Jared Cook out the door, the Raiders have nothing at TE. Fant is a fringe 1st rounder in my book, and Irv Smith Jr. could be the better pick.
#28
LA Chargers - DT Dexter Lawrence
The Chargers could use the athletic nose tackle after losing a few key pieces on their D-line.
#29
TRADE
Indianapolis Colts - ED Montez Sweat
I have no idea where Sweat is going to land due to his heart condition. I'll say the Colts will move up 5 spots to land him here, but I doubt this actually happens.
#30
TRADE
Cincinnati Bengals - QB Drew Lock
I also have no idea who's going to take Lock. I have a good feeling on where Haskins and Jones will go, so I'll predict the Bengals will find a successor to Dalton here.
#31
LA Rams - C Erik McCoy
With John Sullivan declining and hitting free agency, the Rams need to find a guy to help the interior with Rodger Saffold also gone.
#32
New England Patriots - WR A. J. Brown
Brady doesn't have much to throw to right now. Brown would be a nice value here and a great weapon to pair with Edelman.
Whew... let's see if I can top my total number of picks correct (2017 I got 4, 2018 I got 3). Here's hoping for at least 5!
