With just six days leading up to Draft Day, it's about time I showed off my Draft Board that I probably put way too much time into. Let's have a look at the top prospects first.
But this time, you don't just have to look at these images - you can check out the board on Google Sheets. Try clicking here to view it. I've set the article to view-only, so you shouldn't be able to mess up anything, though I'm not sure if you can filter the tables. That would be pretty nice.
Back to the board itself, the grades are based off of the same measures I've made in my positional articles. PFF Grades, pSPARQ scores, Charlie Campbell and CBS' ratings, and then there's a hidden column where I give or take points from players that I like or don't like, some based upon what I saw on tape (but I didn't watch tape for most of the players, so my meddling is minimal).
For missing PFF Grades and pSPARQ scores, they will be in italics with my best guesses for what they should be.
So there you go, 141 player names for you guys to learn. Here's some fun stats I've calculated:
Top 60 players organized by position:
The D-line class is stacked this year with a whopping 18 players in my top 60. Meanwhile, if you want an off-the-ball LB, this is a bad year to need one. There's Devin White, Devin Bush, and a whole bunch of other guys who aren't great prospects. TE and HB are weak, but that's been a trend for several years. The O-line has just 8 guys, which is a little low (last year I had 10), but plenty of 1st round talent. The WR group is deep, but it's mostly 2nd round talent.
Now, let's see how much talent there is by round:
The 1st round is looking strong this year, but with the caveat that several first round talents are likely going to take a plummet (Jachai Polite [personality reasons], Montez Sweat [heart condition], Jeffery Simmons [torn ACL]). The second round will also be strong, but there appears to be a decrease in talent during the 3rd round, and that will increase into the 4th. My draft board has its bottom prospects as 5th rounders, but many of them will likely end up going undrafted, so the ratings aren't perfect.
Alright, one more image - all of the offensive linemen on my board:
Do note that the positions are fluid and some players would be more flexible to playing guard/tackle/center than others. I would like the Vikings to take one of the top 7 guys on this chart, even though Ford is a pretty low for a 1st rounder. Dillard, Lindstrom, and Bradberry are probably the best fits with the Vikings new zone blocking system since they value athleticism. I'm not a fan of the O-lineman who are below this group of 7, so I really hope they don't let this opportunity slip by.
I'll be updating this board up until the draft and I'll have it ready for Days 2 and 3, so make sure to visit the page on Google Sheets. Feel free to comment if something's not working over there.
And if there's any prospects you think belong in my board, I'm open to suggestions. I tried to cast a wide net, but there's so many players, I can only do so much! Thanks for reading!
