2019 QB Draft Class Discussion

Alright I was wrong, he looks nothing like Johnny Clown Show. Given his size I expected to see him scramble around a lot and throw passes up to talented receivers, but nope, most of the highlights I saw showed him reading defenses and throwing from the pocket.

He only seems to run when it's a last option rather than a first. Sometimes he started to run but then pulled up to hit a open receiver. That's what I like to see in a QB, always thinking pass. Difficult to assess his accuracy or arm strength off of just highlights because they're obviously only showing passes that connected.

He reminds me a lot of Dante Hall (the human joystick) when he takes off to run, so that's pretty scary lol. It will be interesting to see how his skill set translates to the NFL against much better, faster defenses. Regardless of how that turns out I do think he'll have a much better career than Manziel. He actually does have some talent, so I can see why teams are intrigued while at the same time being a little hesitant because of his size.

I was impressed by his knack for finding the open guy too, although I have to keep reminding myself these are only his highlights lol. About the only thing I didn't see was him under pressure very often. That Oklahoma OL looks pretty stout and he had all day to throw most of the time, so that could be a factor.
