Enemy Fan Forums: New England Patriots

Attention vistitors from other teams -

First, welcome to Patriots Planet. We love to have fans of other teams here (well, most of us do). It leads to some great conversations and makes the board a more fun place to be. Feel free to register and join the conversations!

That being said, for several years, we were saturated with talk about allegedly under-inflated footballs. We have read the hundreds and hundreds of pages of court filings, and every other scrap of information available. We understand the facts. It filled an entire off-season and much of a regular season.

As a fan of another team, you have probably read a few articles about it, maybe had some discussions on your home board. You think of course the Patriots are guilty of cheating, not only now, but in 2007. You might tend to believe every accusation in the media against the Patriots. As a fan of another team, I can't entirely blame you. You concentrate on your team as you should and are only aware of other teams based on what is in the news. I thought of course the Saints were guilty in Bountygate entirely based on what was in the media. It is only in the last year that I have come to question that, and that bothers me. Never again. If there is another scandal from another team, I won't be so quick to form an opinion, and certainly won't base it on what the media tells me.

It might be hard for you to justify the success of this Patriots team in your mind. It can't just be the GOAT coach and the GOAT QB. It is very easy for you to believe that the Patriots do anything and everything to gain an advantage, whether within the rules or not. But it is kind of a shame if you do feel this way, but this board's purpose is not to convince you otherwise, because that would probably be futile.

You are not being original or funny to us if you come in here with "CHeatriots" or "Bellicheat" or using an asterisk. We have heard them all hundreds of times, and it is tiring. We have all pretty much had it with discussing this topic, and these kinds of comments are just viewed as trolling now.

You are free to believe that the Patriots are the dirtiest cheating cheaters in NFL history and have irrevocably harmed the "integrity" of the NFL. It is a shame if you feel this way, because in our opinion, it helps to hide what is truly harming the integrity of the league.

So please if you come here to talk with us, talk about the game. Talk about Xs and Os. Talk about how your team is more talented if you feel that way. You can try to talk about these other topics if you like, especially if you are truly interested in learning more, but most of us are pretty burnt out on the topic. I am not posting this to restrict what you are allowed to talk about, almost anything is fair game, I am just to trying to give you a little insight into how we feel, and that if you persist in the lame cheating insults without bringing much else to the table, it probably won't go well for you here.

And finally, resident Pats fans, please remember to give new visitors some rope to get the feel of the place and to blend in. They either will or they will hang themselves.
