The Vikings may have beaten the Cardinals this past Sunday, but two players almost single-handedly blew the game for the Vikings and could have landed them in a deep pile of trouble.

Dan Bailey, though he didn't miss any kicks, certainly gave Vikings fans heartburn with how sloppy his two field goals were (especially the first one). How long will Zimmer & Priefer put up with his shaky play? This is clearly NOT the guy we saw in Dallas...

Brian O'Neill was forced to play and was attacked mercilessly by the Cardinals defense. Smart team those Cardinals because O'Neill failed to step up and the Vikings were forced to give him help as his mistakes began costing the Vikings points. O'Neill blew his assignment on the play where Cousins came under severe duress and threw his interception. Then it was his inability to handle the rusher from his end which forced Cousins to step up into a strip-sack which the Cardinals returned for a touchdown. How much more of this is the Vikings coaching staff going to put up with before Mike Remmers gets moved back to tackle? Was O'Neill's selection in the draft a HUGE mistake?

Barely making kicks is just as bad as missing them. Just as a tie is just as bad as a loss. Anyone who watches the game tape can tell you that Bailey has been wildly inconsistent so far.

Considering Zimmer & Spielman's history of short patience with kickers, it is not an exaggeration to say Bailey is on VERY thin ice. Just wait till he misses his first game-winning kick or has another day with multiple misses and he'll be outta here. (and he will. Just watch.)

Considering PFF has such an abominable track record when it comes to predicting how players are playing and what they will turn out to be, their ratings don't surprise me because anyone who watches the game tape (or even just the highlight reels like here: ) can tell you that O'Neill was atrocious except when he was part of a double team. Coaches don't make judgments based on PFF scores. They make judgments based on performance on the field. If O'Neill was really as good as the pundits claim he would have been starting from Week 1. But he hasn't been. Why is that? Because the coaches see how bad he really is playing. It just isn't showing up on the stats sheet (yet that is).

Just watch. The time will come and fans will be howling for Bailey and O'Neill to get booted. They just don't fully recognize it yet.

I agree, especially when they dock you a point for every inch off right down the middle a kick is. Those off the upright kicks that are only worth one point are real killers. Bailey's 48 yarder went right down the pipe and would have been good from 52 or 53 at least. He made the big kick at the end of the Philly game. I have not felt this confident since Longwell was our kicker.

O'Neill was fine. Great, nope, but good, especially when compared to Hill. O'Neill gave up the pressure on Cousins INT? You mean the naked bootleg where the line went left and Cousins went right? The scheme gave up the pressure on that. And regardless, it wasn't O'Neill who threw the pass-that is on Cousins. The Vikings also gained the lion's share of their 195 rushing yards to the right behind Remmers and O'Neill.

You sir, obviously know nothing about football. Do you also go by the moniker of VikeCycle?

Except you get 3 points for "barely" making a FG and 3 points for making one perfectly. Missing them get you zero points... so by your logic if 'barely made' = 'miss' is true, 3 = 0. Good math there.
