Hey everyone,
I just wanted to take the time to announce something that we're doing here at Purple Pain. As the title says, we're teaming up with a Chicago Bears forum: Chitown Bears Forum.
I'll steal this from their announcement (thanks JABF !) to explain more:
Proboards, our Internet host, has an "affiliate" option that allows different boards to be affiliated with other boards (to promote traffic between boards). It allows us to link to each other's boards to promote discussion and, overall, site growth.
Make sense? Hopefully.
As you guys know, I work my butt off here trying to make this a good community for all of you. I'm always looking for ways to enhance our board, so I figured we could give this a try...
So, give our new Bears fans friends a chance! I can say that after chatting with them over the last few days, they really do seem like a good group ... and they really do remind me a lot of us! So when you see them around, please welcome them and, of course, play nice!
Nothing changes with our board, and nothing changes with their board other than we simply link to each other's board and try to promote football discussion. As you probably have guessed, both boards have similar expectations regarding mature, respectful football talk, so don't think because they are Bears fans the rules are any different; they aren't! These are Bears fans, not Packers fans after all...
Anyway, we'll be linking to each other's board officially within the next couple of days when we sort out the details, but I just wanted to let you guys know before it happened.
Until then, feel free to check out their board to get a feel for it: www.chitown-bears.com
If you're interested in joining, great! If not, that's okay too ... but I would encourage you to check it out and give this "affiliation" a chance. It could be mutually beneficial to both boards if we work together to make that happen.
Also, because their board is also on Proboards, as soon as your account is approved, your name and password will work over there, as well. It's easy as pie!
If you have any questions/comments/concerns, please let me know!
