My thoughts on Vikings 'last game, zimmer, ol, griff,future)

I just got back from Los Angeles and it was a fun evening Went to Roscoe's after the game and i'm not sure if it was the food or settling in after the tough loss but I wasn't feeling that great all night and this morning...................................


The Vikings played a decent game. Well I should say their offense played a decent game. The offense that showed up last night is good enough to win any game this season. Sure we need to improve our OL play which would help both the passing/running game, and we could also use another deep threat with size (Dez Bryant on line 1)

Our biggest problem last night was what my fears were all season long and in fact for the past 3 seasons. Mike Zimmer is not elite. I think he is a very good D-Cord. I think his schemes are good enough to make defenses compete on most nights. But he just doesn't know how to be a head coach in the NFL. This could be Marvin Lewis 1-2-3 all over again. A decent coach with decent records every so often but will never win the big games. Or any game that counts for something (playoffs)

Where is the Double A-gap blitz? Where is the agressive CB play that funnels receivers into the Vikings zone strength? There isn't any of this happening. And he hasn't been able to in-game coach and make adjustments. This is really worrisome. I think all Viking fans should be afraid of what might happen if Zimmer doesn't wake up. He has massive weaknesses as a coach and its showing every week. I do not think he knows how to be a great NFL head coach. PERIOD! Prove me wrong Zimmer. But you are proving me correct every big game.

He couldn't even move Goff out of his spot all game. If it wasn't for Hunter's man up play on the LT to force a sack. our DL would have done nothing. 

AND TOM JOHNSON!!!!!! you were the worst DL in history last night. The effort was sad and he was manhandled and clueless when plays weren't even near him. SAD!

We need to fix our OL badly. We need to sign FA's next season and over pay for them. We did for our QB. Lets do the same for our OL. 

The latest on Griffen is what we have heard last night. Griffen's story will be told but i'm worried the whole truth will not be told. He might just tell one side to the story and leave tidbits out. What happened can't happen again and he needs to get on top of his personal issues. He can't be trusted right now and he needs to deal with this alone and for him to prove to others that he is on the right path.

One thing that i'm tired of hearing is these stupid reporters say '' The Vikings are trying to get him right and helping him deal with his issues'' 

THIS IS FALSE. The Vikings are not doing anything. Nor have they ever done anything to help. This is 100% on Griffen and his peers/doctors/family/friends. The Vikings have shown the opposite and do not want anything to do with this. They have basically shut him out of all team functions so HE and only HE can deal with the issues. Zimmer has leaked that he has had no contact with him or have done anything to even check on him.


The future for this team is not bright but there is hope. If Zimmer can finally be a great head coach and understand what he needs to do as a defensive coach this team can compete for the playoffs and try to beat the Rams in L.A again in January. If not, this will be a 8 or 9 win season and no playoffs or lose wild card weekend.
