It's that time again! Time to head to Lambeau with our shiny new quarterback. Let's see what some of the Packers' fans are saying about the upcoming match-up against our Vikes, shall we?!

Man those Vikes are going to get a big *** rude awakening next week when they come here and we bust em up 38-10. They don't have the novelty offense factor that the Bears did, and even if Griffen, Joseph and Hunter are good, none of them have Mack's talents. I'm going to call a big huge Packer blowout win for several reasons:
1. 49er TEs were running crazy downfield but just dropping passes when they were thrown their way. We don't have any butterfingers (or paddlehands) on our team period, and Jimmy Graham will have his coming out party.
2. Kirk Cousins looked stupid out there and folds like a tent when you get in his face.
3. The Vikings luck has officially run out.

I have absolutely no idea what to expect with this game.
The Vikings do not have the surprise factor, and not only was Cousins very unimpressive, Cook got stuffed on his carries. The Niners OL was also beatup and no McKinnon and they still almost won.
This Viking team is not even going to come close to sniffing the NFCCG this year. I can bet $500 million on that and win big.

The Vikings were a good team last year and arguably got better this year across the board.
That said unlike many I do sense a little fools gold in their win last week...their coverage got busted but never capitilaized on like hopefully we should and Kirk wasn't quite the crisp passer I thought he was...still they are solid.
IF #12 plays...which I sense bad things coming....I would say Pack 31-20.
IF Kizer has to go, I say it truly becomes a 50/50 coin flip depending. Kizer looked solid and made some crazy throws like a starter. That strip fumble was just a sick play by Mack and the INT it is clear he couldn't tell Mack had disengaged his block for the dump pass....had Mack been engaged that is a big dump completion with blockers ahead.

As much as I can't stand the Vikings, anyone who doesn't view them as a good team is really not viewing things through clear glasses. Is Cousins as good as AR? No. But the Vikings proved last year with Keenum that they don't need a great QB to win and IMO Cousins is a decent upgrade over Keenum. The Packers are going to see a much better team in the Vikings than they saw last night with the Bears. If the first half Packers show up, this game will be too far out of reach for even a healthy #12 to catch up against that Viking defense.
The Vikings are beatable for sure, but its going to take something like the second half Packers on both offense and defense that we saw last night to probably do that.

This. I still am not sure Cousins will be better than Keenum was last year for the Vikings because Keenum played out of his mind but Cousins is a better qb. My hope is that the Packers can exploit the Vikings oline which gave up 3 sacks and a fair amount of qb hits - actually similar to what the Packers oline gave up. Also Cousins wasnt incredible accurate completing 20 of 36. Another potentially good sign is the Vikings rbs really didnt run well. 27 carries for 82 yards. Cook had 16 carries for just 40 yards and 15 came on one run. on the other 15 he had just 25 yards. I think our interior line can hold them in check.
The Vikings defense on the other hand is a wrecking crew. They forced 4 turnovers and had 4 sacks and 9 qb hits. The 49ers were banged up heading in and the Vikings banged them up more so I expect the Packers offense to play much better. A silver lining the 49ers average a crazy 17.4 ypc. Garoppolo was inaccurate and made some bad decisions but when he did complete passes they picked up big chunks of yardage - passes of 36, 39, and 56 yards.

Cousins is better than Keenum, Cousins may not have a better statistical season than Keenum had last year. None of it really matters because either QB is plenty good enough playing on a team with next to zero real pressure on the offense because of the defense. The Vikings will come or go on the strength of their defense like always recently. Doesn't mean they won't have some nice offensive stats or they don't have some nice offensive players. They do. They could lose half of them and they won't be any less dangerous than they are now. Pluck as Harrison and Joseph out of that defense however and they become pretty beatable. It's their strength.
Sometimes I think the fans on this board are drinking the kool-aid a little too much. You all need to slow your roll a bit. The Vikings are a team to reckon with. They are not overrated at all and arguably are better than last year. We will need to fire on all cylinders to win a closely contested battle.
I'd like to say that the Vikings are an overrated team, but I can't. They are good, very good.
Viking defense the real deal, they really dont have a weakness on D. Every single starter on their D tackles with form.
Is it me or is this coming Vikings game Sunday scaring the crap out of anyone?
I will even go as far as saying Rodgers will be hurt again.
Sorry, maybe I should go back on my meds.

I just can’t imagine this o line having a good game against the Vikings front four.. which is better than the Bears front four. I pray Rodgers can at least run some...for his sake. Expect to see a ton of max protection and 3 man routes. Our WRs better come ready to play ..and we HAVE to run the ball with success so they can’t drop 6 guys into coverage every play.
Imo, they’re not overrated. They’re a legit squad with playmakers all over. I think we edge them out though due to the Rodgers factor, I literally have not thought we were going to lose a game in so many years since Rodgers has been on top of the game.
One game, one big win against a hated rival. This week? Another hated rival. Only this is a team that has genuine, legitimate SB hopes. Actually, both teams do. So, fasten your seatbelts, its going to be a bumpy ride. This is going to be a tough game. The Vikings defense may be the best in the league, and their offense is very good. Though I still have this nagging feeling that Cousins just doesn't have "it". That undefinable quality that separates the very good from the great. So, which Packers team will show up? The raggedymuffins that lollygagged through the first half? Or the tough, dedicated warriors who overcame nearly impossible odds to pull off a great victory? Be ready for another rollercoaster of a game. And hopefully, a second win over a division rival.
The decision on Rodgers playing will be a medical decision. They're going to count head, left arm, right arm, left leg, right leg, and if they get to five he's playing.
Not knowing the severity of Rodgers injury, I've got some real concerns going into this one. No question, the Vikings are coming after Rodgers. A much better defense than Chicago. The Packers are going to have to spread the Vikings out. 3 and 4 WR sets, with quick reads allowing Rodgers to get rid of it quickly. Depending on his knee, I would not hesitate to sit Rodgers if need be. Big game, but we can afford to lose this game to keep Rodgers playing down the road. Again, it depends on how severe his injury is, recovery time, risk of further injury after swelling.
Dalvin Cook receiving out of the backfield is a huge matchup problem for Green Bay. Pettine will have his work cut out for him this week.

Heard a guy from Wisconsin call in to sports talk radio and say that if the Packers sit Rodgers, they are effectively forfeiting the game. Agree totally. But at the same time, MM and Philbin need to keep the game uptempo, shorter timing passes, rather than those slower developing plays where the receiver is expected to beat the coverage. No huddle, keep the Vikes defense on the field so they are limited in subbing.
Hate to say it, but the Vikings front 7 is the best in the league. Bigger test to the Packers OLine than the Bears with Mack. I wish I had more optimism, but the most I am allowing myself to hope for is that Rodgers , if he plays, doesn't get injured any worse coming out of this next game. I suspect McCarthy/Philbin scripts the offense with that in mind--max protect, quick throws, etc.
Vikings are also going to try to come storming out of the gates early. Defense has to be ready for that. Weird plays, deep shots, "momentum" plays. And our offense HAS to use their early aggressiveness against them. Can't let them get all hyped up and confident. If we don't throw a slant to Adams or a screen to a RB/Graham five times on the first drive, I'm firing McCarthy in Madden.
We just took care of the 2nd best team in the division. Should be no problem handling #3.
Well Rodgers got his revenge on the first team to injure him. They even tried it again and he responded "lol."
Sunday is the sequel of the revenge tour.
Pretty sure the Redskins concussed him in the SB year so the tour continues next week.

Revenge is only sweet when successful. Success to me means a win. Minus that, I'll take any Packer player who can lay a huge hit and flatten Barr like a pancake.
If Outpost31 gets his wish, and we see lots of quick-hitting slants, other 2 second plays, we're not going to see a high scoring game. Rodgers just needs to keep possession and methodically move the ball down the field and chew up clock. Most importantly, he needs to get the ball out in two seconds - three tops.
Defensively, we need to drive Cousins nuts. That's all. Nothing fancy.

The silver lining to this Rodgers injury is they'll continue the quick passing attack and that's exactly how they should be doing things with the personnel they have on offense. Davante's game is better suited for it to utilize his skillset, same with Cobb. The only real burners vertically they got are the rookie WR's who will barely sniff the field. It's even more important to play this way against top tier fronts like what Chicago just brought and now especially Minnesota. Blessing in disguise, even though it obviously sucks that Rodgers will be well less than 100% for likely the rest of this month
Wanna see them get Ty involved some more in the passing game this week and ffs, you kept 4 TE, USE them.

Kirk Cousins actually trademarked the phrase "You Vike That."
Please Nick, Kenny, Mike and Clay tee off on that corny bastard.

Zimmer typically bottles up Rodgers with his Nickel man/zone hybrid schemes. McCarthy and Philbin better be prepared to deviate from the norm in this one, since the audible reads aren't going to be there as much. I think Montgomery and Cobb need to be on the field alot to attack the flats, but Williams excels in pass pro, so there is a dilemma.
Man I feel like there's a 5% chance Aaron misses this game. I don't think if he fails any of the knee stability tests they trot him out there which means it's probably a sprain. I know how bad he wants the Vikings.
