Good stuff, Reignman. I think Patterson has a chance to be a part-time third WR for Brady, as he put some good stuff on tape, but he did have a drop and also only seemed to run hooks or go routes. Doesn't look like he's going to do any advanced route running.
Josh Allen looks about as I expected, nearly getting picked on bad throws, running backwards all the time... he's very fast, and he's going to make some Russell Wilson-esque escape plays. Problem is his O-line is so bad he's gonna get killed if he starts.
Thanks! And yeah Patterson has done pretty well with the basic routes he's getting. Hoyer missed him bad on that bomb. And as we already knew, get him in the open field and he's dangerous. Curiously they haven't used him on kick returns yet though, so I wonder if they just plan to use him as a Wes Welker type, or will he be returning kicks too? It's possible he could end up returning kicks if defenses start shutting him down.
Josh Allen has looked pretty good against 2nd/3rd stringers, but yeah against Cincy he got to start and looked very much like a rookie again. I think the Bills will stick with McCarron or Peterman this year. The announcers kept saying the line wasn't giving him much time, and maybe that was true on some plays, but for the most part I thought he was holding onto the ball too long. He was even doing that against the scrubs so I mostly blame him for those sacks/hits. He's pretty elusive though and difficult to bring down and I think he relies on it too much. He's gotta learn to make quicker decisions and get rid of the ball.
