I stand corrected. I guess I just remember 2 straight runs and not picking up a first down. I still would have had him uncork one on the very first snap lol. Floyd ran the deep route but he basically jogged off the LOS. I imagine he was just trying to clear some room for Thielen. Thielen and Morgan basically ran the same short route to the right, and Treadwell ran a short curl on the left. Nobody was even close to open as you say, so McKinnon was the only option, but it was still a high panicked throw. He first thought about escaping to the outside but changed his mind for whatever reason after the first step. Maybe the DE helped him change his mind IDK, but the old Teddy would have been ready with the stiff arm and would have tried to beat him outside for a throw-away, but after 1 step the new Teddy decided to stay in the pocket and immediately felt the pressure. Just an uncharacteristic move on his part.
His next series was 2 runs and a pass attempt on 3rd down. Both his pass attempts were from the shotgun so he didn't have a proper drop and never had to plant that back leg and step up, so perhaps even favoring it a little on the drop, which is how he injured it to begin with if I remember correctly. And understandably so. I broke an ankle playing football and it took awhile for me to trust it mentally long after it physically healed. I sprained the other ankle playing basketball and again even after I healed and started playing again I wasn't making any sharp cuts or hard plants. Both injuries happened on the landing after a jump, so pro tip, try to land flat on your feet after a jump, not on the side of your ankles. So this is what I worry about most as far as Teddy is concerned, his knee is going to be a huge mental problem and who knows for how long, and that's not good news if we have to rely on him in the playoffs. It's going to be as bad as Bradford in Chicago I think. So what do we do with 2 backup QB's who are dealing with mental injuries?
Are you sure about that? Nobody seemed to know in week 5 except us schmucks who were sitting at home yelling at our 6 inch screens lol. Zims slow reaction to these things has me worried about seeing Sam or Teddy in the playoffs because that's how our season is going to end.
