What They're Saying...
We lose as the team is done.
I am in the fence on this one. IMO, they are tougher than GB so I thought a loss for sure. But now that they seem to be able to score, it's a possible win. However, you have to take the coaching under consideration and Flus is a negative effect on the outcome. Not trying to be funny or snide or anything. Really trying to be objective here. He has actually lost a few games for us with his decisions. CW has actually put us in a position at the end to win a few.
If I had to guess, I think we have a good game and lose in the end. For the way this season is shaping up, I'll actually be ok with that if I see growth in CW.

I hope CW keeps moving up and somehow we also lose every game. I want to see Flus completely humiliated and yes he fully deserves it.
I think Flus has a checklist of ways to lose games and he's working his way through it. This time, I think the Bears will be down one and Williams will drive them to the 15 yardline, 4th down, 20 seconds left, and Vikings with 1 TO. Flus will kick the FG going up 2. Santos drives the KO through the endzone and Vikings start on the 30.
First down incomplete, second down incomplete and then a scramble for 7 yards, Vikings call TO with 8 seconds left. On 4th down, Flus calls for a cover-0 with a 7 man blitz package. Addison jukes Stevenson at the line and runs down the sideline wide open. Easy TD as time expires.
At his post game presser Flus loses it with reporters:
YOU TOLD ME TO BE MORE AGRESSIVE! YOU TOLD ME! I WANTED TO SIT BACK LIKE I DID AGAINST WASHINGTON BUT NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO YOU GENISUS TOLD ME TO GO FOR THE WINS!! F YOU ALL!!
And he's fired the next day by Virginia herself.

I think they drive to the 10 yard line, with 15 seconds left. Then he decides to let time run out to 3 seconds and kick a field goal. As he is waiting for the clock to run down, he loses focus and starts to hallucinate about the lakefront and how beautiful it is. The clocks runs out before they have a chance to kick and they lose the game.
He then files a complaint with the league accusing them of keeping the beautiful lakefront from him and causing emotional distress leading to the loss. He also files a complaint with the league for good measure.

I chose the Vikings cause they have the better defense, but there always is the chance that Darnold pulls a Levis, and hands the bears an undeserved victory, sit back and buckle up, I will be rooting for a bears win since it will help the Lions, so the bears most likely will lose ugly
As always I'm rooting for the Bears knowing they probably lose this one, witch is to be expected . Having said that, a loss got its benefits too.. One more notch (L) on Flus record, and Vikings will gain ground on the Lions..

You don't have much confidence in Bears 'top 10' defense?
Hmm. Trubisky vs Vikings. Fields vs Vikings.
Will they allow Williams to pass at all?

Oddly enough I think the Bears win this one. I have no reason to believe, but I just feel like it’s gonna happen.

It will be ugly. Our defense is suspect in key situations, and I don't have enough confidence in our pass rush. I think Thomas Brown does another nice job getting the offense ready to play, and we will all lament the fact that he will be swept away with the rest of the coaching staff at the end of the year. The score will be closer than the actual game, as we get a TD in garbage time.

Bears deserved the win against a 6-3 GB team and I have the same gut feeling about this one as well, but I just can't pick them over an 8-2 team. I can't.

I just don't know from where, or how, these players keeping finding the will to want to play hard.
Flores blitzes the ever-loving f*ck out of Caleb and I'm not sure how Thomas Brown will react or adjust. Maybe he does well, maybe he doesn't.
This is yet another lost season so I don't know if I care to see us win another game. Stack the losses, fire everyone, pray that Caleb stays healthy and learns something so he goes into 2025 a better QB.

Sam Darnold kind of sucks, so we have a fighting chance. Brown seems to understand the ball needs to get out of Caleb's hand quickly, so hopefully that counteracts Flores.
23-17 Bears.

Justin Fields struggled mightily against Flores and his exotic blitzes. Will be interesting to see how Caleb responds/reacts.
Vikings use the run against the Bears soft defensive front to set up play action to Jefferson et al.

Tough to see very clearly how the Bears will be able to score enough against that defense. I really don't want to see more wins as much as I do just not getting our asses handed to us as badly as we did against AZ and NE.
I think the hope is that this Flores defense has been incredibly effective against bad offenses but good ones have had some success. Not that we're suddenly a good offense but that it isn't like they've been shutting down absolutely everyone.
They've kept the Giants, Texans, and Jags under 10, the 49ers (poor at the start of this season) , Jets, Colts and Titans under 18 but have allowed 29, 30 and 31 against the Packers, Rams and Lions. So still a great defense, currently 4th in the league in points allowed but they have a mix of amazing performances with those 3 that aren't great.
Compare to our D where we haven't kept anyone under 10 points but have just one game above 21 points (it seems like we allow a score in every game we should keep out, which is stopping us being truly elite).
Anyway, it'll be tough but Caleb is coming off a good week against the blitz, it's a big if but if he can punish them a little there, and we can turnover Darnold, we're not out of it...

I think the defense continues to hold it together. The Vikings offense is fine but shouldn't be the first to run up a score on our guys.
The offense couldn't be more of a wildcard. Surely Flores is going to terrorize Caleb to some extent, but will there be effective hot routes? Will playmakers like Rome and DJ take advantage of risky blitzes to create big plays? I'm just guessing it'll be some yes and some no. One long drive, one long TD on an explosive, and one score based on a turnover the defense creates.

Knowing the vikes are going to blitz the f*ck out of us, all I want to see is a f*cking game plan that isn't 30 passes behind the line of scrimmage.
Brown and CW18 have a real hurdle this week as the Vikings have allowed an average of only 11 PPG during their 3 game win streak. The Bears defense is good, but not unbeatable as last week showed.

Maybe Thomas Brown KNOWS Flores loves to blitz, and will GAMEPLAN for that, so that there will be no need ADJUST.

I really liked what Brown did last week. I think it continues. The vikings get after the QB. Brown used hot rotues, wrs screens, rpos last week to slow down the rush. The offense should play about as well minus more pressure and I can see a turnover. The defense will play well like always.

Another frustrating 3 hours on deck.
Honestly, Minnesota scares me more than anyone else in our division, despite them also being the #3 team overall.
Why?
They dial up pressure like no one else, and our OL is almost comically bad at leaving free rushers.
Hopefuilly Thomas Brown can scheme up some actual counters to their agressiveness.... We either hit them hard and punish their blitz, or this goes super bad and we potentially see Bagent having to take over as they scrape Caleb off the field.

If Caleb comes out of this game without a turnover, he should be given a medal. Most likely will be the toughest test for him this season, given what Flores likes to do. I expect a very similar gameplan as against GB with a lot of screens and quick passes to avoid catastrophic sacks.
Looking at unit EPA comparisons:
CHI 24th OFF, 27th Pass, 12th Rush, TTT 2.86, QBP 38.1
MIN 1st DEF, 7th Pass, 1st Rush, TTT 2.78, QBP 37.2
On offense, Caleb won't really feel too much difference as his TTT and QBP are almost the same as what MIN has done. The biggest factor looks to be the rush defense.
MIN 14th OFF, 13th Pass, 21st Rush, TTT 3.06, QBP 36.3
CHI 8th DEF, 3rd Pass, 20th Rush, TTT 2.93, QBP 34.4
On defense, MIN is actually a middle of the road offense. Outside of JJ, it is even less. The Bears will be forcing Darnold to throw faster than he is used to which may cause his pressure rate to go up.

Bears 27, Vikings 20. Thomas Brown drum beats louder.
I said this the other day in the GB game day thread. I feel like Brown is going to get a head coaching gig sometime in the next 2-3 years, so why not with us?
Not to get ahead of ourselves, but if he keeps this energy up each week and having the offense look ready to play along with Caleb improving in his development then I can see a scenario where the players are really bought into this guy and want him to be in charge if they decide to move on from Flus at the end of the year.
Though I am still not fully convinced Flus will even be fired 100%. A few weeks back Adam Rank mentioned he heard from his Bears sources it would take a real disaster for him to get fired. We still have 7 games to go an anything can happen.
But let's say they want to keep Flus because he has a strong finish to the season, there's a real possibility that Thomas Brown gets hired away somewhere else as the HC, which would put us right back into square one with Flus having to hire another OC and that's an uneasy feeling.
Also was thinking of guys who could be potentially hired as HC while keeping Brown at OC. Liam Coen is a guy who is getting a lot of attention recently for his work in Tampa. He and Brown worked together on the offensive staff in LA under McVay. Though I was thinking how Brown would feel if they passed on him for HC and hired a guy he was essentially superior to in LA being that he was the Assistant HC there? Probably not good
Again not get too ahead of ourselves, but maybe just maybe this team will have finally lucked into the right HC candidate from within their building with Brown. How crazy would that be?

seriously. offenses scores 19 points in a loss and twitter is like "Should we hire Thomas Brown as our head coach?" this fan base is really pathetic lol
Never underestimate the Bears’ ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
I can't even comment on upcoming games because I am dealing with trauma from previous ones.
Thoughts on their thoughts?!
