Well, alert Zygmunt Wilf. Remember, mediocrity starts at the top.
When you think about that 31-29 Packers game, it was only a close game because KOC couldn't finish it.
He had a hand in it but imo Sam Darnold had a bigger hand. Sam is a weather vane, you never know which way he'll blow.
As for the rest of your diatribe, do I get paid for reading that voluminous dribble? I ought to.
It's nice to say the Vikings ought to blow people out every week because then they're somehow more of a contender. But reality as I pointed out in my post is that they aren't a contender because they have a bunch of issues - secondary, interior lines, qb rollercoaster ride, etc.
Margin of victory is a tautology - the better your team is, the better your margin of victory for the most part. Yes, anomalies like the '22 Vikings occur but many of us, particularly in the betting space where I spend a lot of time, knew that was not real. But the idea that a coach could stand on the sideline and say, "If we just score another touchdown and win by 20 instead of 13, then we're really a contender this year!" is sort of silly. KOC can put his foot on the gas just as hard as Man Campbell but Sam Darnold can obliterate the effort at any random moment.
Detroit blows people out because they are really well-constructed from top to bottom right now (quick, someone tell Kwesi you can build a team through the draft instead of tossing your picks on the floor like a drunk throwing Cheetos around the room.) Kansas City on the other hand isn't blowing anyone out but is in the AFC driver's seat right now. Margin doesn't matter to Andy Reid, he doesn't stand on the sideline and think to himself, "WWRD?" (What would Reignman do?). God help him if he did.
A better measure of who's a contender imho is not margin, because even teams with a big margin can lose a one game playoff, is resiliency. I don't know exactly how to measure it, but if KOC has shown me anything this year, it's that he can find a way to win even when the team is struggling or not at it's best. And this is what Reid does in KC and I've heard former Patriots say the same about Belichick. You don't always have your best stuff, so finding a way to win is paramount. Man Campbell did it in Houston a couple weeks ago.
