I went with the defense, they really did not let the Colts do much at all offensively and most of the points they had no control over (scored on defense and given ball in FG range). Smith made a couple nice plays. Turner hopefully squashed some of the bust nonsense that had been going on. Overall though it was just a strong defensive performance.
As for the coaching I think yet again it was a great performance from Flores. He clearly had Flacco confused most of the night and planned to stop the run game and force the pass to beat us. They never gave up or seemed let down as the offense struggled early. For KOC I think more and more people are seeing that even on the bad plays there are consistently guys open and the QB just isn't hitting them. Despite very poor QB decisions at times along with missed FG's we put up over 400 yards and still got 3 TD's. Nothing amazing but more and more at least in the stands people are simply talking about Darnold being the obvious issue and how excited everyone is for JJ. Early it seemed like we were too focused on the short game, we were not stretching the field enough and the defense would take advantage at times leading to bad Darnold plays. When the offense opened up a bit in the 2nd half and stretched the field (even if not throwing it all the time) it looked much better.
As for Darnold I think most have caught on to the main issue by now. He was the talk of the stands as everyone could see wide open options on some of the negative plays (especially a possible TD to Addison). This is not the first time there has been a clear sense in the stadium someone is wide open, possibly for a TD, but Sam instead throws a dumb pick. In the game thread I see happy feet, seeing ghosts, and talk about Nick Mullens. We are hopefully very far removed from some discussing if we should pay 40+ mil to keep him moving forward lol. We are getting what we can out of him but as some said before the season much of his issues are mental and that often doesn't just disapear. That we have gotten so much more out of him and have had the success we have is a testiment to the surrounding cast imo. He clearly has some talent what was not realized in the other situations but has been on this team. It is just that the limitations, missing wide open guys and decision making will always be issues even when you can pull that talent out of him.
Jefferson deserves his shout out as well but I want to add I think Addison had a good game too. He was open a few times he didn't get the ball but made a very nice TD catch and some other key plays throughout the game.
