KAM's seat should be getting pretty warm and if this season ends up flopping it might get pretty hot. On the positive side, he has been able to sign some nice free agents this past year that have been solid additions. I'll give him credit there. On the flip side, his drafting has been an absolute atrocious. We're getting almost nothing from all of his drafts which is crippling to our depth and future success. Depth isn't there and as I predicted, once injuries start to pop up and we don't have capable backups to fill in, it will show. Building through the draft is the best way to sustain success in the NFL. He put a lot of eggs (draft picks) on Turner and its not looking good. In some ways, JJM being hurt might be helping KAM because people are locked under the impression that JJM will be a great pick. However, if Turner got hurt after his first glimpses of playing time we might also be thinking he was a star in the making. The very small sample size that we're basing JJM off of is not enough to know if he will be a bust or not.
Not sure how he's been this bad at drafting but its not just a fluke anymore, this is a pattern that more people should be noticing now. Whatever changes need to be made, i.e. evaluation process, scouting, etc., it needs to be figured out asap or he won't be there much longer.
