... I don't need to look it up, giving up 28 points is not good for the win pct, but lets say you only win 30% of the time when you give up 28 points. The opposite is also true, if you score a lot of points, your chance of winning is high. Did we hire KOC to hold opponents under 28 points, or did we hire him to outscore opponents? I guess we should've hired another defensive guru. Why did we hire an offensive guru to go 3-n-out and leave it up to the defense with a 1 point lead? Because he keeps doing it. That's some Zimmer nonsense.

Still...this was a bummer of a result overall.

He definitely didn't play bad but he showed his limited ceiling in this game. He just isn't good enough.

I get that, but before this season if you were told the Vikings needed a 3rd and 4 to closeout a game with Darnold at QB, what would have been the odds you would have given for success?

He can only call the plays, it is up for the players to execute.

Well that narrative changed quickly (roflmao)

. After 3 weeks KOC was a genius for having Darnold playing like an MVP. It's Dobbs all over again. KOC is a QB whispering genius until it's the QB's fault. It's pretty wild how these QB's get worse the more the KOC offense they learn.

I get what you're going for but....

Last I checked, Dobbs didn't throw for almost at an 82% completion rate and had 103 rating.

Considering Sam's past and how much he had struggled, KOC is still doing a good job in getting him to play up to his capabilities as far as his talent goes.

But Sam does have limitations.

That's what we've all known.

Unfortunately, KOC has limitations too as we've seen. sigh....

It was 3rd and 4...that is a pass play by every team in the NFL 8 or 9 times out of 10.
And it bears repeating, Jefferson was open. I am not some KOC bobo, but the flak he has been getting the last few weeks is strange.
He has multiple time castoff Sam Darnold leasing a team to 5-1 record while playing really solid football about 80%, or more, of the time. Darnold overthrew Jefferson...did he because he was worried Addison would rean up for it? I can't imagine Addison was supposed to be there...you don't draw a play with two receivers that close to one another. But, even of that was the case, a throw six inches lower and it's first down and likely game over. That isn't a Coach flaw, that is a QB flaw.

When you roll some of the best teams in the league leading up to today, the "looking back, what if" thing doesn't work for me.

We're not the great team the media and fanbase have made us out to be. We're good, but not great.

Need a different angle to see when he got open, but if Addison doesn't cut back in front of JJ, that is a first down.
