Good question, he didn't record anything on the stat sheet so it's possible they kept him on the bench most of the game. Too early to be concerned.

Amen to that! We don't want to repeat the 2022 with so many close victories, but it's not like good teams don't have close wins like this one. Lest we forget we already pitched 2 blowouts in the first 3 weeks after going 5 years without a blowout. Sheesh!

And yeah the defense bailed him out like a Defense is supposed to for all QBs.

Basically the Defense at that point did its job in forcing the punt, and when that happened, it became a case of "No Harm, No Foul" because the Packers could do nothing with the interception.

And yeah we were in FG range but this falls as much on KOC as it does on Sam.

KOC should've called a Running play and then kicked the FG then instead of trying to go for the Jugular.

Darnold played fine for the situation. The guy isn't Patrick Mahomes. He isn't just going to heave the team on his shoulders and carry them. I don't expect that from him and as I said before the season started KOC can't just have Darnold throw it 40+ times and expect to win. The run game was working and KOC gave up on it. For no reason. I thought he had this fixed. Evidently when KOC gets frustrated or anxious he defaults to long passing plays. Which is absurd because Dumbf*ck LeFleur was throwing a tantrum on the sideline and the Vikings were in his head. Path of least resistance was to just continue running the ball and throwing to the open receivers, taking what the defense gave them up 28-0. I don't wanna see another performance like this again this year or the dreaded "fraudulent" accusations may start coming out again like in 2022. The Vikings were for real up until the second half of this game. There should be zero regressions of this magnitude again. KO has no excuse! Darnold only threw 28 times but for a whole game of football KO probably would have clocked him over 40 the way he was calling the second half.

I'm actually not leary about Darnold doing dumb things. He actually makes good decisions a majority of the time. Nobody is perfect, mistakes happen, but my problem is that KO put Darnold in bad situations. That's KOs fault not Darnold. Don't make him do a 7 step drop when GB is whooping the OL's ass. That's just stupid. I saw him do that on at least 2 series. What is Darnold going to do? Be Peyton f*cking Manning and just change the call? No. He runs the plays he's given. KO should know better and be aware of the game situation. He should have set up a screen game in the 3rd quarter. There was still a lot of time to put up points then and the Packers didn't have as much momentum.

The game management here was lacking to an extreme degree after halftime and almost all of it was self inflicted.

I was screaming for the FG as well. Going up by 12 rather than 9 would have made that onside kick a little more bearable.

It wasn't though. First half the Vikings blasted them. This wasn't a tough game, it was completely in hand until KO botched it. Make no mistake it was 100% on him and the playcalling. He nearly lost what was a blowout victory on the road. It wasn't Green Bay adjusting, it was KO pissing the game away.

I have problems with that KOC call too. Three points is a dagger. But here is the thing:

I have b*tching for years about the conservative calling of Vikings head coaches. Denny Green wasnt conservative but other than that the offenses went so vanilla that they stunk with a lead. Of course its been forever since we had a 28 point lead. Cousins just couldnt get a few of them. I would rather have this than conservative but this was absurd. You got a huge lead and the end of the half is coming. Has there ever been such a thing as "score management"? I mean I can count. A field goal here makes means the Packers need an extra score. (Cant remember the exact score when it happened.)

Cousins got bailed out today by a 58 yard field goal from his kicker.
