Georgia hangs on for a 1-pt win @ Kentucky. The Wildcats played the Bulldogs tough and exposed Georgia's issues on offense moving the ball without the star players they lost to the NFL last season (Brock Bowers, Adonai Mitchell, Ladd McConkey, etc.). Carson Beck is good, but there just wasn't anyone open as Kentucky blanketed everyone.

With as many loaded teams as there are in the SEC - Missouri, Alabama, Tennessee, Ole Miss, LSU, Texas & Oklahoma - I have a hard time seeing Georgia remain undefeated...

...but powerhouse teams don't have to go undefeated anymore to make the Playoffs...still though, the Bulldogs do have issues on offense that could come back to bite them...

did you notice how Deonne Walker the Kentucky DT looked? I've got my eye on him in terms of next year's draft

...but the shocker score is in Lexington as Kentucky is hanging with #1 Georgia, and actually up 6-3 at the start of the 3rd quarter. We haven't had many upsets this weekend - UNLV's win @ Kansas being one of the only examples - but if the Wildcats hang on in the 2nd half, it would be the upset of the season so far.

It was so weird to have these rivalry games this early....games that have traditionally ended the regular season and played in fall/winter weather. My Ducks hadn't looked nearly as dominant as expected the first two weeks and, while the offense started right away yesterday, the defense was having some trouble stopping the Beaver run game in the first half- ToP lopsided in Oregon State's favor. But as Oregon built its lead, the Beavers became 1-dimensional and got nothing going in the 2nd half.

The weird thing the last couple years that is talked about less is the effect of the transfer portal- there's so much more turnover from year to year between graduations, transfers, and graduate transfers that even very talented lineups still take a few games to gel with so many new teammates.

Wolf you are correct I brought that up too. Even in a constant environment the teams would take three to four or five games to get rolling as a unit. Now you have ten twelve or like Colorado total turnover. It has to lend to these quirky starts…Random take, Tennessee though doing an on side kick up thirty in the second is lame assed though against power house Kent.

I did watch that game specifically for him (#0 on Kentucky's DL) and he didn't do anything. It was really more the backend of Kentucky's defense that covered the Georgia receivers and then came up in run support that kept them in the game the entire time.

In fact, I haven't seen a really good DT performance yet this College season so far - in a game that didn't involve a "cupcake", that is. I'm not counting games that a Top 10 team squashes a non-Power 4 team. I specifically watched FSU's DL during Week 0 (and Week 1) and was disappointed and then I watched Notre Dame & Michigan's DL during Week 2 and again was disappointed in the DL performances. I was trying to watch Georgia's DL, too (Nazir Stackhouse was a name to watch) and didn't see much.

I haven't seen a Rd 1 DT performance yet this season.

DT's I have yet to watch this season that I hope to in the coming weeks:

- Walter Nolan (Ole Miss): this "prize" of this past season's transfer portal and Lane Kiffin & Ole Miss spent the money to load up to challenge in the SEC this season.

- Tyleik Williams (Ohio St): might be more of a penetrating 3T in a 4-3 like Michael Hall, Jr. was, and not a 3-4 DE/DT

- Ty Hall (Oho St): little undersized and more of a run-defender than backfield disruptor

- TJ Sanders (South Carolina): I only watched a brief bit of the LSU/South Carolina game just before the end of the 1st half and couldn't see much in the way of the Gamecock defense.

- Dontay "Godfather" Corleone (Cincinnati): I know he had an injury early this season and that's about it

I wanted to start a "DT Watch" thread like the "QB Watch" threads I did for the past two seasons, but the DT performances have been really uninspiring so far this season that I haven't had the motivation to do so.

thank you. I know he had some sacks last year but my question is he indeed a legit pass rusher or is he a Jordan Davis type space eater
