I give us a win and start the season on a positive note.
right now the NYGs are considered a bad team in the NFL. So a win vs the Vikes should not be taken too lightly or with too much weight.
I dont know what to think anymore. Last season I thought there were an ascending team. Oh well. They all STB. I stopped listening to pressers about week 5 or so. Couldn't even stand to hear any of the coaches or players say a ****ing word.
2024?
Who the **** knows. I certainly dont.
Its all about the OL and Jones for the most part. Not a lot to hang your hat on there at this time.
I see the Vegas line at 6 to 7 wins as being accurate and maybe even generous. A few months ago I was laughing at that line.

the saving grace is Darnold may STB worse than Jones
Going into the season, I like to maintain a positive attitude, so I chose Win!!!! Vikings are no pushover, will be a good sign for the season going forward to beat them. I don't take them lightly.
To finally start off the season with a win, at home, would have a calming effect.
The Giants should beat the Vikings 31-13. If so, we'll have confidence that the Giants can be competitive agains good teams. But there's lots unknowns. On defense, will the Giants, DBs stop the deep ball. We haven't seen Daboll's new offense, but I'm expecting it to be good.
Jones and the O average 11 points per game last season. So now they get 31? How?
They'll be fortunate to get 24 points IMO
This game will be more like 17-13

even in 2022 they only avg 21.5 points per game. 2023 was 16 ppg and while Jones was QB it was 12 ppg. They would have to take monumental leaps forward to start scoring even 24 + points per game.
31 points in game one? I hope so but I just dont see how that's possible. Unkess the D gets 3 turnovers deep in Vike's territory. Or if the D scores twice.

Garrett Wilson burned this secondary at will.
Jefferson and Addison will do the same.
We’re a bad team. The vikings are better than us across all facets of the ball and that includes WR and QB with Darnold.

When the Giants opened their offense against the the Vikings in the playoffs. Jones threw for over 300 yards and Giants scored more than 30 points. Keep in mind Daboll's conservative plays resulted in the Giants hardly scoring in the first half of games. That will not happen this year.
The difficulty I see is the new offense having little repetition against really good competition which may lead to timing problems on pass plays leading incompletions and possible interceptions early on. Hope not.

until they prove otherwise, the Giants are a bad team, 24-10 Vikes, Go G-men
Everyone should be voting "not sure." DJ looked like DJ (not a compliment), starting RB ran for 2 yards a carry, the secondary got roasted in a scrimmage against the Jets, and injuries will play a huge role week to week.
The only 2 things I'd bet on, with this team, is Nabers will see a ton (too many?) of targets and the pass rush should be solid.
Other than that, nobody really knows what to expect.

Lets get the season off to a nice start.
Giants 28
Vikings 20
Nabers Has 2 TDs catches in his NFL debut.

I honestly don't feel great about this game, but I will never pick against the Giants in the season opener. My hope is the line blocks adequately, Jones plays well enough to score some points and the defense doesn't get embarrassed.
GIANTS 20, Vikings 17

Does anyone who has the Giants scoring over 20 pts.,..... actually think the Giants can score 20 Pts?
The Giants only scored 20 once in their first 10 games last year.

Scored over 20 in 12/17 games in 2022. And it’s not like we were particularly potent offensively that year. It’s not that hard to do.
Last year was possibly the worst first half of the season that the Giants have ever had……everything under the sun went wrong, and the schedule was brutal.
OL is a lot better on paper and our best guy isn’t hurt. I think that bodes well into at least having a normal, functional offense.

The Giants have to win. They have no excuses with them being at home and against Darnold with no Addison and Hockenson. The last two times the Giants started 1-0 they went on to make the playoffs. The Giants have to start 2-0 with this schedule.
I am going 20-17 Giants.
If we are going to win 6 or 7 games we have to win this game. Although I hate the matchup of Jefferson and Addison against our pitiful secondary, I do think our pass rush will protect it enough this week vs Sam Darnold to sneak out a win. But, it will be close.

Jones will have all sorts of trouble with Flores' confusing defensive scheme, make critical mistakes leading to several Minn. scores.
They will have trouble executing the offense against this defense and points will be hard to come by.
He needs to prove me wrong.

You’re basically asking Sam Darnold, who’s a worse version of Daniel Jones, to go on the road and win a game. You can count on one hand the number of good road starts in Darnold’s entire career. He went 4-2 recently as starter of the Panthers almost entirely on the back of CAR rushing for massive amounts of yards. While the Vikings defense improved substantially under Brian Floyd, they still don’t have a lot of talent on that side of the ball.
Vikes 19

I expect a wide open game with big plays and mistakes for both teams. Our Oline will play well but will give up 3-5 sacks. The run game will surprise and Barkley won't be missed that much. As typical with early season games, tackling will be spotty as both teams will take time to get up to "real" game speed. We must be aggressive on both sides of the ball and intimidate. Start fast and take charge.
10 wins are very possible and we'll be a wild card team that nobody wants to face!

Some funnies:
You’re so bad, you made Daniel Jones look like a Top 5 QB so we paid him a sh*t ton of money
BOOM roasted!
Hold up, that one might have back fired…
Joking aside, hope you are looking forward to having football back and are ready to relive the trauma of DJ tearing you up again

This is an important one. Whoever wins might have a shot at 3rd place in their division this year.
If I had to start a franchise, I'd choose Kirk Cousin's dead cap hit over Daniel Jones.
This game is the polar opposite of the super bowl.
I don’t know what’s a worse foundation,
The turf at the meadowlands or Daniel jones as your qb.

I appreciate the Vikings making me feel slightly less awful about our QB situation to start the season
