I think the important thing is that Kendricks was correct in saying many people get emotional and might say things in the heat of the moment that they would change but Zimmer is still holding onto and saying these things years later and is still holding grudges. That is not a sign of a good leader or a good coach in my opinion and I wouldn’t want my kids coached by someone with that mindset.
Essentially it was that vindictive attitude and refusal to work with Spielman and the players he brought in that led to him and his son getting fired and after reading the article you have to wonder if he had just been a man and talked to Rick and found a way to work together if maybe Adam would still be alive. What a tragedy for a man that young to go in that way.
But, yes, it was a tragedy. Always is... I wish more people struggling with addiction, depression, etc. got the help they need. But that's not the reality for many.
Again, Zimmer holding onto grudges and being bitter only hurts him. It doesn't hurt me. Doesn't hurt my feelings. So I'm not going to waste any emotional energy on that. But that's just me. He's also a 68-year-old man with a looong football career. He's conveniently just this God awful person, but only at the lowest point of his career? Again, I agree he doesn't always handle things well. But I think Kendricks' opinion is as closest to the truth as we're going to get. And that's where I'm at with it.
It’s a bit ironic that he had such vitriol for Kirk yet if they had kept Teddy he would have been fired two years earlier.
Also him acting like a prick is why they had a new OC every year and of course whatever he said to Norv Turner that caused him to punch Zim in the eye, detach his retina and quit on the spot.
