This sounds like Josh Dobbs 2.0. I guess KOC/KAM are really slow learners. If you want to be able to learn on the job, enter an apprenticeship program (a fantastic thing). The NFL ain't that.
no it sounds like we signed a different 3rd string qb. It's not some freaking indictment on the coach or gm. They will be judged by the development and ultimate performance of McCarthy not swapping out 3rd string qbs
On Hall, it was incredibly telling that he got something like 1 to 3 snaps per practice in minicamp/training camp. That more than his preseason play indicated that he wasn't going to be QB3 even with McCarthy's injury.
Well said! Even though I don’t like Mullens I can understand the logic behind it. As much as I wanted to upgrade it’s too late. He knows the offense no other guy can come in now and be ready.
So even though I’m not comfortable I can understand the reasoning. If Sam was to get hurt. Today Mullens is equipped to be the next guy. We could at least have a third guy younger with some upside.
I agree Hall wasn’t ready to be the next guy up but if we to the third guy we in trouble likely anyways. Exactly it’s not Hall really it’s more some guy who less traveled younger. I would think KO would embrace that fun activity to mold a younger guy into perhaps our long term backup.
It’s no nothing thing. All through our history we have needed to have guys up behind a guy. Why not take advantage of the 3rd QB and develop someone. None of us are asking for a star. We hope that’s JJ, but I want a guy molded for cheap showing the QB whisperer KO rep says he is. Maybe Rypien stuns me if playing I have my doubts.
